Poodle,

Poodle,

100kg Chicken Liver ❤️ 20kg Chicken Necks ❤️ 13kg Minced Beef

对于一个人来说,一碗白饭也许可以填饱肚子;

100kg Chicken Liver ❤️ 20kg Chicken Necks ❤️ 13kg Minced Beef

Yesterday, we discovered that our food supplies were almost completely gone.

In a shelter with more than 500 dogs, we were left with little more than white rice.

And honestly, it broke our hearts.

For a person, a bowl of rice may be enough to fill an empty stomach.

But for dogs who are growing, recovering, elderly, weak, or sick, filling their stomachs is not enough. They need proper nutrition too.

More than 500 lives.
More than 500 hungry mouths.
Every single day, they wait for their meal.

They never ask us:

“Is there meat today?”
“Will there be enough nutrition?”
“Will there be food tomorrow?”

They simply wait quietly when it is mealtime.

So today, we rushed to prepare more food for them:

🐔 100kg Chicken Liver
🐔 20kg Chicken Necks
🥩 13kg Minced Beef

These ingredients will provide additional nutrition for their meals over the next few days.

We know these may not be expensive or luxurious ingredients.

But to the dogs in our shelter,
this pot of food is one of the few things they look forward to every day.

Many of them were abandoned.
Many knew hunger on the streets.
Some arrived injured and terrified.
Some were so sick that they almost lost their lives.

We cannot erase the suffering they went through before they came to us.

But from the day they arrive,
we want them to know:

You will not go hungry simply because nobody wanted you.
You will not be forgotten just because you were abandoned.
There will always be someone who cares whether you have eaten today.

❤️ We are not simply caring for a group of dogs.

We are caring for individual lives that were once forgotten by the world.

And perhaps what we can give them is simple:

Let them eat today.
Let them have food tomorrow.
And let them experience, at least once in their lives, what it feels like to be loved and cared for.

More than 500 dogs.
Day after day.

The food runs out.
And tomorrow, they will need food again.

Having food today does not mean there will automatically be food tomorrow.

So we keep going.

To everyone who continues to stand beside us —
every kilogram of food, every bag of rice, and every contribution you give becomes a meal in one of these dogs’ bowls.

To them, it is not just another meal.

It is proof that someone has not given up on them. ❤️🐾

How Painful This Is…

As I write these words,
my heart is truly bleeding.

Black Dog is gone.

For the final 12 hours,
he fought so hard, so hard, just to breathe.

One breath after another.

Every single breath
felt like he was using every last bit of strength
to fight against the illness.

And we fought alongside him.

For two days and two nights,
we barely slept.

We watched him constantly.
We rushed him to the vet again and again.
We prayed.
We kept hoping that somehow,
somehow, a miracle would happen.

I stayed by his side,
whispering into his ear again and again:

“Black Dog, please get better.”

“If you can make it through this,
I will bring you home.”

“I will take care of you,
and you will have a home of your own.”

“I will be with you every day.”

But as I watched him struggle more and more,
as he became weaker and weaker,
I knew…

he was already so tired.

With tears in my eyes,
I whispered to him:

“If it hurts too much,
it’s okay to let go.”

“There is no pain in Heaven.
No seizures.
No needles.
No medicine.”

“Go there and be a happy little angel.”

Twelve hours later,

at 8:15 a.m. this morning,
Black Dog left us.

Until his very last moment,
he never gave up.

It wasn’t because he wasn’t strong enough.

He was incredibly strong.

He fought with everything he had.

But in the end,
the illness took him away from us.

Many people don’t know this,

but Black Dog was actually a dog
who had a feeder who cared for him.

But from the very moment
he stepped into the MFA shelter,

whether he had an owner or not,

whether someone outside was feeding him or not,

he became an MFA child.

This is something we have always believed in.

Every life that enters MFA
is treated as our own child.

No distinction.
No favoritism.

Because here,
they all have the same identity:

They are MFA’s children.

So when Black Dog left,

we didn’t simply lose a dog.

We lost one of our children.

And that kind of pain…

it feels like someone
has reached into your heart
and torn a piece of it away.

I didn’t always play with him.

I didn’t always stop to pet him
or hug him.

But somewhere along the way,
without me even realizing it,

he had already quietly found a place in my heart.

He was such a gentle,
quiet, well-behaved boy.

He never caused us trouble.

He was good during treatment.
He was good when taking his medicine.

Even when he was suffering,
he simply endured it quietly.

And that is why
we loved him even more.

Why we couldn’t bear to lose him.

Why it hurts so much.

Why it is so hard to let him go.

I’m sorry, Black Dog.

We really did everything we could.

For these two days,
we gave you everything we had.

We took you to the vet again and again.

We kept telling ourselves,

“Just hold on a little longer.”

“Maybe a miracle will happen.”

But in the end,

we still couldn’t keep you here.

I promised you…

If you could make it through this battle,
I would take you home.

I would raise you at home.

I would be there with you every day.

But…

you never got the chance to see that day.

And that is one of the things
that hurts me the most.

If Heaven truly exists,

I hope there is sunlight there.

I hope there are endless green fields.

I hope there are many loving furry friends
waiting for you.

You don’t have to struggle to breathe anymore.

You don’t have to suffer anymore.

You don’t have to be afraid of another seizure.

You don’t have to fight anymore.

You can finally sleep peacefully.

I didn’t write this
to make anyone feel moved.

I didn’t write this
to make anyone cry.

I simply want to remember.

To remember that there was once
a boy named Black Dog

who came into MFA.

To remember
that he was deeply loved.

And to remember that

he was never just another dog
who passed through a shelter.

He was an MFA child.

He was one of our precious babies.

Even if one day
many people forget your name,

MFA never will.

Because you were one of the children
we fought with all our hearts
to keep alive.

And even though we couldn’t save you,

please know this—

you were loved.

You mattered.

You belonged.

And you will always belong to MFA.

Finally,
I want to tell you this:

Black Dog, thank you for coming into MFA.

Thank you for becoming
one of our children.

You will forever be
one of MFA’s precious babies.

We will love you forever.

Run free, Black Dog.

Rest now.

You don’t have to fight anymore.

Until we meet again.

Black Dog,

「Black Dog,

Black Dog

Black Dog

Black Dog,

Black Dog,

We stayed awake all night.

We watched over him, terrified that we might lose him before sunrise.

We slept on the floor beside him, hoping we could save him.

Black Dog is a stray rescued from the local council last year.

When we first met him, he was covered in ticks and suffering from severe tick-borne disease. He was so weak that he could barely stand.

Later, he was diagnosed with TVT (Transmissible Venereal Tumor).

Injection after injection, medication after medication, countless vet visits…

Every step of the way, we kept telling ourselves: As long as he doesn’t give up, neither will we.

Eventually, he recovered.

We truly believed he had finally made it through. We thought he could finally live the peaceful life he deserved.

But fate had other plans.

A few days ago, he fell sick again.

The day before yesterday, he suffered his first seizure.

Watching his body become stiff, seeing him convulse and struggle to breathe while feeling completely helpless… there are simply no words to describe that kind of pain.

We were terrified.

Terrified that the next moment might be the moment we lost him forever.

So we brought him home.

Not because there was no one at the shelter.

But because we simply couldn’t leave him behind, knowing another seizure could happen at any time.

That night, we slept on the floor beside him.

We barely closed our eyes.

Every few minutes, we checked to make sure he was still breathing. Every time he moved, we woke up in panic. Even the slightest change in his breathing made our hearts race.

We are not veterinarians.

All we can do is stay by his side, watch over him, and hope.

No matter how exhausted we are, no matter how many sleepless nights we endure, if there is still a chance for him to live, every sacrifice is worth it.

Behind every rescue appeal we post are countless sleepless nights spent caring for critically ill dogs.

Behind every update are moments of carrying sick dogs into emergency clinics, frightened and desperate.

Behind every life we fail to save are tears we cry in silence.

This is the reality that animal rescuers live through, over and over again.

Over the years, we have said goodbye to far too many souls.

Every time, we tell ourselves not to become too emotionally attached.

But we never can.

Because to us, they are not “just stray dogs.”

They are living beings who feel fear, pain, and hope. They long for love, comfort, and someone who will stay with them when everyone else has walked away.

The hardest part is that even while we are fighting with everything we have to save lives, there are still people who choose to attack us with false accusations, baseless assumptions, and emotional manipulation, trying to erase every sacrifice we have made.

What truly breaks us is not caring for hundreds of dogs.

What breaks us is carrying that burden while enduring misunderstandings and unjustified attacks from people who have never walked in our shoes.

We have never asked everyone to understand us.

We have never asked everyone to support us.

We only ask one thing:

If you cannot help, please don’t hurt those who are already giving everything they have to save lives.

Tonight, we will stay by Black Dog’s side once again.

Our only wish is that tomorrow morning, he will still be here… wagging his tail and looking back at us.

Black Dog,

You have survived so much already.

Please don’t give up this time.

Because we are not ready to lose you.

❤️

❤️ The Warmth of a City Begins with Respect for Life

Today, we were once again invited to participate in the stray dog rescue operation organized by Majlis Bandaraya Melaka Bersejarah (MBMB).

This three-day joint initiative, led by MBMB in collaboration with animal welfare NGOs across Melaka, focuses on the humane capture, shelter placement, and adoption of stray dogs. The goal is to manage the stray animal population in a more compassionate and responsible way, while giving these animals a second chance at life.

Since early 2024, Melaka Fursave Association (MFA) has been honoured to work alongside MBMB and MPHTJ on numerous rescue operations. Over the past two years, we have successfully handled many high-profile rescue cases, demonstrating how meaningful collaboration between local authorities and animal welfare organisations can create lasting, positive change for stray animals.

We firmly believe that the issue of stray animals cannot be solved by any single party alone. It requires strong cooperation between government agencies, animal welfare organisations, and the community. Through rescue, medical care, neutering, sheltering, and adoption, we can build a long-term, humane solution that protects both public safety and animal welfare.

During today’s operation, we came across a puppy suffering from extremely severe injuries.

The tissue surrounding its a**s had deteriorated badly, and its tail had already been lost due to a long-standing infected wound. Following a veterinary examination, the doctor confirmed that the injury had existed for quite some time and had progressively worsened. It was truly heartbreaking to witness.

MFA immediately took the puppy into our care and transported it to a veterinary clinic for professional treatment. We will do everything we can to give this little life the opportunity to heal and live with dignity.

Every rescue is a relay of hope. Every helping hand reflects the compassion, responsibility, and humanity of a city.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Majlis Bandaraya Melaka Bersejarah (MBMB) for its commitment to animal welfare. We hope that more individuals and organisations will join this shared mission, so that Melaka can continue to grow into a city that is kind not only to people, but also to every living being. 🐾❤️
