[ A Trail Of Peace In Historic Melaka ] ♥️
What makes Melaka especially meaningful is how its heritage — recognized by UNESCO as part of a World Heritage listing — already reflects a living example of pluralism. Mosques, temples, and churches stand within walking distance, showing that coexistence isn’t just an ideal there — it’s a daily reality.
Honoring history not by dwelling in its wounds, but by learning from them. Peace, in this sense, isn’t passive — it’s something continuously practiced, tested, and renewed.
In conjunction with Rotary International’s 121st Anniversary & World Understanding and Peace Day, Rotary Club of Kota Famosa organized a Peace Walk in Melaka Malaysia on February 23, 2026
Gathered at the Melaka Warrior Monument Bukit Cina, the trail was lead to Gurdwara Sahib Melaka at Jalan Temenggong, followed by Christ Church Malacca, and Malacca Volunteer Corps __WWII Monument at Jalan Gereja Banda Hilir. We then visited Kampung Kling Mosque, Sri Poyyatha Vinayagar Moorthi Temple, and Cheng Hoon Teng Temple at Jalan Tokong Street of Harmony Melaka.
This 2 hours peace trail was guided by Baba Lim Eng Leong, a respected Melaka Peranakan Curator at the Malacca Heritage Centre -- a private peranakan museum in Melaka, offers an authentic journey into living heritage.
