EWRF Johor Bahru EWRF Johor Bahru was established by a group of professionals from the field of education, civil service and commerce back in 1988.

Study reveals that one of the major factors for the increase in crime is the high dropout rate in schools and the dropouts are 3.5 times more likely to be arrested than high school graduates and more than eight times as likely to be incarcerated. A high dropout rate also diminishes the pool of qualified people from diverse backgrounds who will enter the professional and political ranks that make i

mportant public policy decisions. Poor academic achievement and socio-economic background could be some of the contributing factors that result in the high rate of dropouts. The Educational, Welfare and Research Foundation (EWRF) is aware of this current issue and decided to align its activities to address it at its early stage. All EWRF programmes are designed either to prevent the dropout phenomenon or intervene into the existing problems that might contribute to the situation. It is felt that by reducing the dropout rate, the crime rate at the national level could be reduced as well.
