𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝗳𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗮

A desperate lady👩 came to Hope Place Kuching recently, requesting assistance for her comatose son. He has brain tuberculosis and is currently staying at Simunjan with his mother and younger sister.

It all started last December, when he complained of feeling weaker and weaker every day, as well as difficulty breathing. His friend, who is a medical assistant in Miri, brought him to Kuching to seek medical help🏥.

Sadly, just two days after he arrived in Kuching, he fell into a coma. Doctors diagnosed him with brain tuberculosis🧠 and hepatitis B. He was admitted to the hospital for two months. Now, he is staying with his mother and younger sister at their family home in Simunjan.

The family is now struggling with expenses. Due to tube feeding, he consumes special milk supplements as his only sustenance. He also uses adult diapers😔.

His sister and mother are not working, their main income comes from the monthly social welfare aid of RM500. Currently, they are trying to apply for SOCSO as well. Hope Place is supporting he with supplies of special milk powder, ripple mattress, and adult diapers📦💕.

男子不幸陷入昏迷

一位母亲👩前往古晋希望之家求助，希望为其处于昏迷状态的儿子寻求物资援助。男子不幸患上脑结核病，目前在Simunjan的家中养病，与母亲及妹妹相依为命。

这一切始于去年12月，当时该男子开始感到身体每况愈下，且伴有呼吸困难。直到他一位在美里担任医疗助理的朋友察觉异样，意识到事态严重，才执意将他带到古晋求医🏥。

在抵达古晋仅仅两天后，他便陷入了深度昏迷。经医生确诊，他同时患有脑结核病🧠与乙型肝炎。在随后的两个月住院期间。如今，至今仍昏迷不醒的他已被接回Simunjan的家中。

沉重的开销让这个本就脆弱的家庭陷入了经济绝境。由于只能依靠鼻胃管喂食，特殊营养奶粉成为了他唯一的食物来源，成人纸尿裤也是一笔持续性的消耗品开支😔。

在母亲和妹妹均没有工作能力的情况下，全家目前仅依靠社会福利局每月发放的500令吉援助金勉强维持生计。目前，他们正尝试向大马社险机构（SOCSO）提交申请。古晋希望之家正为他提供特殊奶粉、医疗气垫床以及成人纸尿裤等物资援助📦💕。

𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗦’𝘀 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗔 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗻’𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁

As the Gawai celebration🌾🎊 approaches, a modest wooden house in Muara Tuang was recently filled with laughter, youthful energy, and a renewed sense of hope, thanks to a group of caring students from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak.

Under the Community Resilience Experiential Learning (CARE) Project, nine university students visited the home of uncle to help clean and repaint his house🏚🧹, bringing comfort and joy ahead of the festive season.

For eight weeks, four final-year students from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities had been attached to Hope Place Kuching as part of their fieldwork assignment, where they gained hands-on experience in social work by assisting underserved communities🫶.

A few days before Gawai, the students, together with several classmates, dedicated their time and energy to improving Uncle👴 living conditions. They repainted the exterior of his ageing house and thoroughly cleaned the interior, transforming the once gloomy space into a more welcoming and comfortable home.

One of the students, Irfan👦, a final-year student from Selangor, shared how deeply moved he was by the experience. “I am truly inspired by Uncle’ strength. Honestly, if I were in his situation, I do not know if I would have the same courage to keep going. Seeing his condition made me realise how important compassion and community support are. Although what we did may seem small, I believe it meant something meaningful”

Another student, Aryecca👩 from Kota Belud, Sabah, described the experience as both exhausting and rewarding. “I felt tired but very grateful to be part of this. I only wished I could communicate better with Uncle because he mainly speaks Iban, while my Malay has a Sabahan slang. As a social work student, I also felt responsible to gently remind him about the importance of cleanliness, taking his medication and reducing drink consumption,” she said.

Hope Place Kuching expressed its appreciation to Universiti Malaysia Sarawak for the collaboration and said it was honoured to be part of the CARE Project, which not only serves the community but also nurtures empathy and social responsibility among future social workers🥰.

砂大2026年CARE项目温暖独居老人心田

随着达雅节临近🌾🎊，Muara Tuang的一栋简陋木屋最近充满了欢声笑语、青春活力与全新的希望，这归功于一群来自马来西亚砂拉越大学（UNIMAS）充满爱心的学生。

在Community Resilience Experiential Learning（CARE）项目的推动下，九名大学生拜访了一位独居老人的家，帮助他打扫并重新粉刷房屋🏚🧹，在佳节来临前送去了舒适与喜悦。

作为毕业实习的一部分，四名来自社会科学与人文学院的应届毕业生已在古晋希望之家”进行了为期八周的实习。在此期间，他们通过协助弱势群体，获得了社会工作方面的实务经验🫶。

就在达雅节前几天，这几名学生与几位同班同学一起，投入时间和精力来改善叔叔👴的居住环境。他们重新粉刷了这栋老旧木屋的外墙，并对内部进行了彻底的清扫，将原本阴暗的空间改造得更加温馨和舒适。

其中一名来自雪兰莪（Selangor）的应届毕业生👦分享了自己深受触动的经历。“叔叔坚韧的精神深深启发了我。坦白说，如果换作是我处于他的境地，我不知道自己是否能有同样的勇气坚持下去。看到他的情况让我意识到，关怀和社区支持是多么重要。虽然我们做的事情看起来微不足道，但我相信这极具意义。”

另一名来自沙巴古打毛律（Kota Belud）的学生👩则形容这次体验既疲惫又充满收获。该学生表示：“虽然觉得累，但非常感激能参与其中。我只希望自己能和叔叔沟通得更好一些，因为他主要讲伊班语，而我的马来语带有沙巴口音。作为一名社工专业的学生，我也觉得有责任温柔地提醒他注意环境卫生、按时服药以及减少饮酒。”

古晋希望之家对马来西亚砂拉越大学的此次合作表达了谢意，并表示很荣幸能参与到CARE项目中。该项目不仅服务了社区，更在未来的社会工作者中培养了同理心与社会责任感🥰。

A mother of five👩, sought assistance from Hope Place Kuching recently. She who resides at Stampin Baru with her children, does not have a stable job to support her family.

Three of her children is schooling, while her 2 twins are at home with her. This is the main reason why she does not have a full-time job. She used to open a burger stall in front of her house. However, due to stiff competition in numerous stalls, including several burger stalls🍔 at Stampin Baru, she had to shut down her business.

Her home is also in a very poor state. Her kitchen only has an old plywood as flooring and there is no ceiling to separate the roof and the walls. Her only bathroom is made of old plywood loosely joined together, with large gaps in several areas. Furthermore, all six of them sleep in a tiny bedroom.🏚️

Although lack in many home comforts, she is ‘bersyukur’ in able to receive children’s financial assistance from the social welfare department of RM1,000 per month. Hope Place is supporting the family with basic food aid📦💕🥫.

育有五子的母亲获得援助

一名育有五名子女的母亲👩最近向古晋希望之家寻求协助。她与孩子们居住在Stampin Baru，目前没有稳定的工作来养家庭。

她的孩子三名都在读书，而两个双胞胎在家里由她照顾。这也是她无法从事全职工作的主要原因。她曾经在屋前经营一个汉堡摊🍔，但由于面临同业的激烈竞争，她不得不结束营业。

她的家境非常贫寒。厨房仅用陈旧的胶合板铺成地板，而且没有天花板来隔开屋顶与墙壁。家里唯一的浴室也是用旧胶合板松散地拼接而成，多处留有大缝隙。不仅如此，他们母子六人每天晚上都不得不挤在同一间狭小的卧室里入睡🏚️。

虽然缺乏许多家居舒适感，但她每月能获得社会福利局发放的一千令吉儿童财政资助感到十分“感恩”。希望之家正为该家庭提供基本的生活食品援助📦💕🥫。

Hope Place Kuching received a visit from a lady👩 not long ago, requesting support for her sick husband and herself. Hope Place went to Arang Road and paid a visit to a man and his wife. Without any children, the couple is currently depending on welfare support.

He used to be a security guard, but three years ago, he had to quit because of his deteriorating health. He had his left leg amputated🦵 last year in June. He is also having heart and lung diseases. His wife is the sole caretaker and income provider. She works part-time for a catering business and only works when called.

With no transport of their own, they use e-hailing taxis to go to the hospital, which, according to them, they do about twice a week. Their expenses also include the rental of RM500 per month and medication. Thus, it is a blessing that he receives Baitumal financial aid and Jabatan Hal-Ehwal Military Fund. They are also trying to apply for the social welfare aid🫶.

Hope Place is supporting the couple with continuous basic food aid and adult diapers for him. Hope Place is grateful to donors who generously support underprivileged people📦💕🥫.

老夫妇依靠福利援助生活

希望之家接到一位女士👩的求助，希望能为其患病的丈夫以及自己争取一些生活援助。希望之家前往Arang Road探访了这对夫妇。无子，两口子的晚年生活，如今只能完全依靠社会福利和援助度日。

丈夫曾是一名保安，但因身体每况愈下，三年前离职。他饱受糖尿病折磨多年，更在去年六月不幸截肢失去了左腿🦵。他还同时患有心脏病与肺部疾病。妻子成了家里唯一的支柱与照顾者。她目前在一份餐饮兼职中打零工，只有在被通知需要人手时才有工可开。

因为家里没有交通工具，夫妻俩每周必须搭乘两次网约车往返医院看病。他们每个月还要负担500令吉的房租以及日常医药费。所幸的是，丈夫目前能领到伊斯兰教库的经济援助和军事事务部基金。他们目前也在积极申请社会福利局的援助金🫶。

希望之家正定期为这对夫妇提供基本食物援助以及给丈夫使用的成人纸尿裤。希望之家也由衷感谢社会各界善心人士的慷慨解囊，让像他们这样的弱势群体在困境中依然能感受到一丝温暖📦💕🥫。

Since 2019, Hope Place Kuching has been helping a bedridden old lady🛌 with multiple sicknesses, living at Kampung Sinjan, Petrajaya, together with her daughter. Recently, in April this year, sadly, the lady, she has passed away and left her daughter with a son.

The late mak cik used to be wheelchair bound, but a few years back, her health deteriorated and had become bedridden. With multiple sicknesses like liver problems, diabetes, and being unable to walk, she👩‍🦰 had difficulty working full-time and had to quit to take care of her late mother.

Besides financial aid from the social welfare for her late mother, she tries to earn extra income by doing part-time job in the village, cleaning and taking care of the elderly. Most of her time is spent on taking care of her late mother and her little boy. After her mother’s passing, the social welfare aid also ended. Now, she is in a dilemma, needing more finance but at the same time, putting his son’s welfare first🫶.

She is planning to apply for the social welfare again, being a single mother herself. Hope Place is continuing the support which the Hope Place gave to her late mother, now, to her and her son. Hope Place is also supplying milk powder to the little boy with milk powder📦💕🥫.

自 2019 年起，古晋希望之家便一直援助一名居住在 Kampung Sinjan, Petrajaya 的士女。该名士女前患有多种疾病且长期卧床🛌，与女儿同住。遗憾的是，这名士女已于今年 4 月离世，留下女儿独自抚养年幼的儿子。

已故的女士生前原本需依靠轮椅代步，但几年前健康状况恶化，最终卧床不起。由于母亲患有肝病、糖尿病且无法行走，女儿👩‍🦰难以兼顾全职工作，被迫辞职以全心照顾生母。

除了领取社会福利局为母亲提供的援助金，这位女儿还尝试在村里做兼职工作赚取额外收入，如帮人打扫卫生和照顾失能老人。然而，她大部分的时间都花在了照顾病母和年幼的孩子身上。随着母亲去世，相关的社会福利援助也随之终止🫶。

她向希望之家倾诉道，尽管她渴望寻找一份收入更稳定的工作以改善生计，但由于孩子尚且年幼且无人帮忙照看，她目前正陷入两难境地：既迫切需要增加经济来源，又必须优先考量孩子的福祉与照顾。

作为一名单亲妈妈，她正计划再次向社会福利局申请援助。而希望之家也决定延续此前对其母亲的关怀，将援助转至她们母子身上。目前，希望之家正定期为这名小男孩供应儿童奶粉📦💕🥫。

A single father👨‍🦰, he was recently visited by Hope Place Kuching. He lives at Kampung Tabuan Ulu with his parents and three children.

The family incurred a great loss earlier this year when the late wife passed away on Valentine’s Day this year. Late wife was diagnosed with acute decompensated heart failure with cor pulmonale due to TB bronchitis🫁 before her death. He used to have a promising job as a cook in a restaurant at Padungan. However, when his late wife's condition got worse last year, he had to resign and take care of her.

His eldest child is in primary school, while his two youngest are taken care of by his parents. He just recently got a new job as a storekeeper. Hope Place wishes them all the best and hopes the children will be resilient during these hard times. Hope Place is supporting the family with basic food and children's milk powder📦🥫💕.

单亲父亲艰难度日，竭力维持生计

古晋希望之家探访了一名正处于困境中的单亲父亲👨‍🦰。这位单亲父亲目前与父母及三个孩子住在Kampung Tabuan Ulu。

今年年初，这个家庭遭遇了巨大的变故。该单亲父亲的妻子在今年情人节不幸离世。妻子几年前曾感染肺结核并已痊愈，然而其肺部🫁状况不仅没有好转，反而持续恶化。这位单亲父亲原本在Padungan的一家餐厅担任厨师。妻子的病情恶化，他不得不辞职全职照顾她。

他的长子正就读小学，而两个孩子他的父母照顾。这位单亲父亲近期已找到一份仓库管理员的新工作，正努力适应生活的巨变。为了协助该家庭渡过难关，希望之家目前正为他们提供基本粮食及儿童奶粉的物资援助，并衷心希望孩子们在这段艰难时期能坚强成长📦🥫💕。

As families around the world prepare to celebrate Mother’s Day with gratitude, hugs, and cherished moments, one family in Sungai Tengah, Matang, faces the occasion with a deep sense of loss. For a man, this year’s Mother’s Day is a painful reminder of the void left behind by his wife, who passed away in February. Just a few months after giving birth to their youngest child🫶.

The late wife's passing has left him to care for their three children. While managing his own physical limitations. Paralysed🧑‍🦽 from the waist down after a motorbike accident in 2021. He is unable to work and relies on a monthly allowance from SOCSO and social welfare.

The family’s strength now lies in the resilience of the children. Despite their circumstances, both children remain exemplary students. They have received multiple academic awards and serve as school prefects, balancing their studies with the demands of caring for their infant sibling. While they are still learning the basics of childcare, they do their best to support one another. Their grandmother also travels from Telaga Air to assist whenever she can💪.

The family has been receiving ongoing support from Hope Place Kuching since 2021, including food aid and baby formula for the baby. The Hope Place continues to stand by them during this difficult time📦🥫💕.

在这个母亲节，当全球各地的家庭正准备以感激、拥抱和珍贵的时刻庆祝时，一个位于 Sungai Tengah, Matang 的家庭正带着深切的丧亲面对这个时刻。对于这位父亲而言，今年的母亲节是一个提醒，着他深爱的妻子离世后留下的空虚。他的妻子于今年二月去世，生下最小的孩子仅过去了几个月🫶。

她的离世留下丈夫独自照顾三个孩子。由于几年前的一场摩托车意外导致腰部以下瘫痪🧑‍🦽，这位父亲无法工作，仅依靠来自社会福利局每500令吉的津贴维持生活。

𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽

Hope Place Kuching has been helping many families throughout the years, from single parents to abandoned elderly. Another category of underprivileged people that the Hope Place supports is the people with disabilities (PWD) group🫶.

One of such people whom Hope Place supports is a lady who lives at Matang with her husband and four children, who has intellectual disability. She has four children, all of whom have intellectual disabilities and hold PWD cards. Recently, because the family has moved to her father’s house, the two youngest are no longer in school. The eldest son is currently in hospital🏥 treatment for his mental health.

Her husband just started working as a security guard👮 at MJC. Grateful for his good luck at getting a job at his age, he hopes the family’s situation will be better soon.

Hope Place has been helping this family for 10 years. Back in 2016, the Hope Place was supporting mainly her husband's late mother. Late mother in law died in 2019, and Hope Place decided to continue their support for the whole family. Hope Place is supporting them with basic food aid📦🥫💕.

古晋希望之家多年来一直在帮助许多家庭，从单亲父母到被遗弃的老人。希望之家支持的另一类弱势群体是残疾人（PWD）群体🫶。

Hope Place 帮助位女士与她的丈夫和四个患有智力障碍的孩子一起住在Matang。 她有四个孩子，他们都有智力障碍，都持有残疾人卡。最近，因为一家人搬到了她父亲家，两个最小的孩子不再上学了。大儿子目前因精神健康问题正在医院🏥接受治疗。

她的丈夫刚刚开始在 MJC 担任保安👮。他庆幸自己在这个年纪能找到工作，希望家里的情况能尽快好起来。

十年来，Hope Place 一直在帮助这个家庭。早在 2016 年，Hope Place 帮助她丈夫已故的母亲。已故的婆婆于 2019 年去世，Hope Place 决定继续为全家人提供支持。 Hope Place 正在为他们提供基本的食品援助📦🥫💕。
