🌾 Gayu Guru, Gerai Nyamai!

As we celebrate Gawai Dayak, SDGA extends our warmest wishes to all Dayaks celebrating this meaningful harvest festival.

May this season bring abundant blessings, good health, happiness, joyful reunions, and renewed strength as we cherish our traditions, honour our heritage, and strengthen the bonds that unite our communities.

To those travelling near and far to reunite with family and friends, we wish you safe journeys and memorable celebrations. As we gather in the spirit of Gawai, let us celebrate responsibly, look out for one another, and continue uplifting our communities through unity, kindness, and mutual support.

In the true spirit of Gawai, SDGA brought together its leadership and committee members for the SDGA EXCO Gawai Celebration Dinner, an evening dedicated to fellowship, appreciation, and meaningful connections beyond our day-to-day commitments.

The gathering was graced by SDGA President Ts. Rizzo Mungka Rechie, SDGA Advisor Sr. Gary Ningkan, former SDGA President Dr. Florianna Lendai, and members of the SDGA EXCO family. The dinner provided an opportunity for everyone to unwind, reconnect, and strengthen the bonds that continue to guide our shared journey in serving the Dayak graduate community.

The evening was made even more special as we celebrated members with birthdays in April, May, and June. Filled with laughter, heartfelt conversations, and meaningful moments, the gathering served as a reminder that strong associations are built not only through shared goals, but also through genuine friendships and camaraderie.

As we celebrate the Gawai season, may the spirit of gratitude, unity, and togetherness continue to inspire and guide us forward.

A Shared Vision for Sarawak: SDGA Supports Innovation in the Silver Economy

SDGA is honoured to align with the leadership team of Care Collective, Mr. Martin Yap, CEO, Mr. Keegan Lim, Commercial Director, and Mr. Morses, HR Manager, in supporting a shared vision to uplift local communities across Sarawak.

Through Care Collective’s innovative aged care ecosystem and K-Youth programme, this collaboration opens new opportunities in talent development, community care, and inclusive economic participation, particularly for B40 groups, single mothers, and rural households.

A key highlight is Care Collective’s tech-enabled gig economy model for certified caretakers, which allows individuals to manage their own schedules, balance family commitments, and earn sustainable income through dignified care work.

As shared by SDGA President, Ts. Rizzo Mungka, this collaboration expands the meaning of modern professionalism by transforming community-based caregiving into empowered micro-entrepreneurship.

SDGA looks forward to weaving this shared vision into its upcoming state-level outreach initiatives under Aram Begempuru. SDGA will also fully support Care Collective’s awareness and recruitment drives in June 2026, building up to the first student intake and Skill Lab launch in July 2026.

Stay tuned for more updates!

We are proud to continue the SDGA Sparks series by featuring our Advisor, Sr. Gary Ningkan, whose simple yet meaningful reminder, “When able, uplift others,” reflects the true spirit of leadership through service and community empowerment.

As a respected professional in the surveying industry and an advocate for greater Dayak representation in the field, Sr. Gary has consistently demonstrated the importance of giving back by creating opportunities, mentoring future talents, and encouraging others to grow alongside him.

His contributions extend beyond the profession, inspiring young Dayaks to pursue excellence while remaining grounded in the values of community and collective progress. Through his leadership and commitment, he reminds us that success becomes more meaningful when it is shared with others.

Through SDGA Sparks, we continue to spotlight voices that inspire positive change, strengthen our community, and encourage the next generation of Dayak graduates to lead with purpose.

The Sarawak Dayak Graduates Association (SDGA) was honoured to attend the Friends of Sarawak Museum (FoSM) Annual General Meeting Dinner held at the Telang Usan Hotel, Kuching.

Representing SDGA, our President, Ts. Rizzo Mungka, joined fellow members, partners, and friends of FoSM for an evening of meaningful conversations, reconnections, and shared aspirations in preserving and celebrating Sarawak’s rich cultural heritage.

The evening also marked a meaningful milestone as Ts. Rizzo Mungka officially received a copy of “Pemulai Ke Nanga Jela”, a publication of significant value following the successful collaboration between SDGA and FoSM during the book launch programme last year. The publication also carries a personal connection to our President, as it beautifully documents part of his hometown in Lubok Antu.

SDGA extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Abraham Ngu and the entire FoSM team for the warm invitation and hospitality throughout the evening. We look forward to strengthening future collaborations and continuing our shared commitment towards community, culture, and heritage preservation in Sarawak.

Celebrating Excellence: SDGA Congratulates Dr Florianna Lendai Anak Michael Mulok

The Sarawak Dayak Graduates Association (SDGA) proudly extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr Florianna Lendai Anak Michael Mulok on receiving the Excellent Service Award 2025, held in conjunction with Majlis Anugerah Gemilang UNIMAS (MAGU) 2026.

As a former Deputy President of SDGA, Dr Florianna has contributed meaningfully to the Association’s journey in strengthening Dayak graduate representation, professional growth, and community-driven leadership. Her achievement is not only a proud personal milestone, but also a reflection of the growing presence and contribution of Dayak professionals and educators in shaping Sarawak’s human capital and future talent.

Guided by her life motto, “Go for it. But once you start, finish what you started. If you want to do something, don’t do it halfway, do it all the way, and do it well,” Dr Florianna’s achievement is a powerful reminder of the values of perseverance, purpose, and dedication.

SDGA hopes that this milestone will inspire more young Dayaks and Sarawakian graduates to pursue excellence in education, professional service, and leadership, while remaining committed to uplifting their communities and contributing to the development of Sarawak.
