Sarawak Deaf Community Services Association Mengumpul dana untuk persatuan bagi membiayai aktiviti Persatuan dan juga untuk mencapai matlamat Persatuan.

SARAWAK DEAF COMMUNITY SERVICES ASSOCIATION is a proudly Deaf-led advocacy and information non-governmental organization in Sarawak representing all Deaf and others who use BIM (Malaysian Sign Language) as their language of preference. Objective:
Objektif:

1) As a Non-Government body to encourage, support and enable advocacy activities to improve accessibility, quality of life and well-being of the Sarawak Deaf Community. Sebagai sebuah badan Bukan Kerajaan untuk menggalakkan, menyokong dan membolehkan aktiviti advokasi untuk meningkatkan aksesibiliti, kualiti hidup dan kesejahteraan Masyarakat Pekak Sarawak.

2) To empower the Sarawak Deaf community with various knowledge and self-skilling activities to encourage them to become knowledgeable, independent, decision-making and team-oriented people. Memperkasakan komuniti Pekak Sarawak dengan pelbagai pengetahuan dan aktiviti kemahiran diri dan semula untuk menggalakkan mereka menjadi orang berpengetahuan, berdikari, membuat keputusan dan berorientasikan pasukan.

3) To provide Malaysian Sign Language Interpreter (JBIM) services to the Sarawak Deaf community to ensure that Sarawak Deaf people always have access to information and their full participation in their daily lives. Menyediakan perkhidmatan Jurubahasa Bahasa Isyarat Malaysia (JBIM) kepada masyarakat Pekak Sarawak bagi memastikan masyaratkat Pekak Sarawak sentiasa mempunyai akses kepada maklumat dan penyertaan penuh mereka dalam kehidupan harian mereka.

4) To promote the richness of Deaf culture including Malaysian Sign Language in the Sarawak region. Mempromosikan kekayaan budaya Pekak termasuk Bahasa Isyarat Malaysia di wilayah Sarawak.

5) To have a capacity to represent the Sarawak Deaf community of all ages to various local, national and international events in order to establish and secure relationships and cooperation with any organization that can promote this goal or have similar goals. Menjadi satu kapasiti untuk mewakili komuniti Pekak Sarawak dari semua peringkat umur ke pelbagai acara tempatan, kebangsaan dan antarabangsa supaya mewujudkan dan menjaminkan hubungan dan kerjasama dengan mana-mana organisasi yang boleh meningkatkan matlamat ini atau mempunyai matlamat yang serupa.

6) To raise funds for the association so as to finance the activities of the Association and also to achieve goals of the Association .

N.51 BUKIT ASSEK SERVICE CENTRE WELCOMES COURTESY VISIT, STRENGTHENS COMMUNITY COLLABORATION

SIBU, SARAWAK – YB Joseph Chieng Jin Ek, Member of the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (ADUN) for N.51 Bukit Assek, recently received a courtesy visit from representatives of the Sarawak Deaf Community Services Association (SDCSA) at the N.51 Bukit Assek Service Centre.

The friendly meeting aimed to discuss welfare initiatives and community development programmes for the Deaf community in Sibu, particularly within the Bukit Assek constituency.

During the dialogue, both parties exchanged ideas and explored potential support programmes that could directly benefit the local community. The representatives were also seen making the “I Love You” sign in a gesture symbolising love, friendship, and support for the well-being of the Deaf community.

YB Joseph Chieng welcomed the initiatives and expressed his commitment to continued collaboration with various local organisations and stakeholders to promote community development and improve the well-being of the people of Sibu, particularly in the N.51 Bukit Assek constituency.

SIBU, SARAWAK – Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN) N.51 Bukit Assek, YB Joseph Chieng Jin Ek, telah menerima kunjungan hormat daripada pihak Persatuan Perkhidmatan Komuniti Pekak Sarawak di Pusat Khidmat N.51 Bukit Assek baru-baru ini.
Pertemuan mesra tersebut bertujuan untuk membincangkan aktiviti kebajikan / program pembangunan komuniti Pekak di kawasan Sibu, khususnya bagi DUN Bukit Assek.
Dalam sesi dialog yang berlangsung, kedua-dua pihak berpeluang bertukar fikiran serta memperincikan beberapa cadangan program sokongan yang berpotensi memberi manfaat secara terus kepada penduduk setempat. Turut kelihatan para perwakilan menunjukkan isyarat 'I Love You' (pengamatan isyarat tangan) sebagai simbolik kasih dan sokongan mesra dalam menyokong kebajikan komuniti.
YB Joseph Chieng menyambut baik inisiatif yang dibawa dan menzahirkan komitmen beliau untuk terus bekerjasama dengan pelbagai pihak dan organisasi tempatan demi pembangunan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat Sibu, khasnya di kawasan N.51 Bukit Assek.

It was an honour to attend the Business Events Sarawak 20th Anniversary Gala Dinner, celebrating two decades of growth, innovation, and strategic collaboration in Sarawak.

Congratulations on the launch of the Sarawak Business Events Analytics and Collaboration Network (BES) and the signing of a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) with the Sarawak Artificial Intelligence Centre (SAIC).

🤟 BIM Carnival 2026 | International Day of the Deaf 🤟

Today was not just a carnival. It was a moment that changed the way we see communication, empathy, and humanity.

At Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Sibu, we witnessed Bahasa Isyarat Malaysia (BIM), Malaysian Sign Language as more than just a language. It is a bridge that connects two worlds: the Deaf world and the hearing world.

More than that, we witnessed courage, openness, and compassion when Yang Berhormat Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee did not merely attend as a guest, but stepped forward, learned BIM, and tried to communicate in our language.

For the Deaf community, that was not just a sign. That was recognition. That was respect. That was hope.

Every hand movement YB made today carried a powerful message:
"I hear you even without sound."

We are deeply moved. We are deeply grateful. And we are deeply thankful.

Thank you, YB, for not just showing up, but for truly being present in our world, in our language, in our hearts.

To SDCSA Sibu, the volunteers, sign language interpreters, participants, and everyone who made this programme a success, you are the heartbeat of change.

Today, we are not just celebrating BIM.
We are celebrating humanity, inclusivity, and the courage to understand.

May more and more people open their hearts, learn BIM, and together build a society that leaves no one behind.

🤟 BIM Carnival 2026 | International Day of the Deaf 🤟

Hari ini, bukan sekadar sebuah karnival. Ia adalah satu detik yang mengubah cara kita melihat komunikasi, empati dan kemanusiaan.

Di Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Sibu, kami menyaksikan Bahasa Isyarat Malaysia (BIM) bukan lagi sekadar bahasa, tetapi jambatan yang menyatukan dua dunia: dunia Pekak dan dunia pendengaran.

Lebih daripada itu, kami melihat keberanian, keterbukaan dan kasih sayang apabila Yang Berhormat Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee bukan hanya hadir sebagai tetamu, tetapi turun tangan, belajar BIM, dan cuba berkomunikasi dalam bahasa kami.

Bagi komuniti Pekak, itu bukan sekadar isyarat. Itu adalah pengiktirafan. Itu adalah penghormatan. Itu adalah harapan.

Setiap gerakan tangan YB hari ini membawa mesej yang sangat besar:
“Saya mendengar kamu walaupun tanpa suara.”

Kami amat terharu. Kami amat menghargai. Dan kami amat bersyukur.

Terima kasih, YB, kerana bukan sekadar datang, tetapi benar-benar hadir dalam dunia kami, dalam bahasa kami, dalam hati kami.

Kepada SDCSA Sibu, para sukarelawan, jurubahasa isyarat, peserta dan semua pihak yang menjayakan program ini, kalian adalah nadi kepada perubahan.

Hari ini, kita bukan hanya meraikan BIM.
Kita meraikan kemanusiaan, inklusiviti dan keberanian untuk memahami.

Semoga semakin ramai yang membuka hati, mempelajari BIM, dan bersama-sama membina masyarakat yang tidak meminggirkan sesiapa.
