We are deeply saddened by this loss and pray that his soul is blessed, and that YB Dato' Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri and her loved ones are granted strength, comfort and patience during this difficult time.

8 Jun 2026, Kuching: Presiden SWWS, Dr. Angie Garet dan Timbalan Presiden, Puan Chua Kuan Ching mengadakan kunjungan hormat kepada Timbalan Perdana Menteri Malaysia, Yang Amat Berhormat Datuk Amar Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof di Hotel Waterfront Kuching.

Kunjungan yang julung kali diadakan ini merupakan peluang strategik untuk memperkukuh hubungan kerjasama antara Pejabat YAB Timbalan Perdana Menteri dan SWWS.

Kunjungan hormat ini mencerminkan komitmen berterusan YAB Timbalan Perdana Menteri dalam memperkukuh jaringan strategik bersama badan bukan kerajaan (NGO) di Sarawak khususnya SWWS bagi memastikan sokongan dan bantuan kepada wanita Sarawak sentiasa berada pada tahap terbaik demi kesejahteraan komuniti di Sarawak.

Setinggi-tinggi penghargaan dan jutaan terima kasih diucapkan kepada YAB Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Datuk Amar Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, atas kesudian meluangkan masa dan memberikan peluang kepada SWWS untuk berkongsi peranan serta usaha yang dilaksanakan dalam memperkasakan wanita Sarawak menerusi sesi yang eksklusif.

"Online sexual harassment is becoming an increasingly serious concern, with victims urged to act quickly to preserve digital evidence as crucial material can easily be deleted or altered, says former Selangor Bar chairman Kokila Vaani Vadiveloo.

“Online harassment is very much recognised under Malaysian law. Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 may apply to obscene, offensive, threatening, or harassing communications made through social media, WhatsApp, email, or online platforms,” she said.

She added that victims may lodge police reports where criminal conduct is involved, while workplace-related complaints can also be reported to employers, the labour department or the tribunal for anti-sexual harassment."

10 May 2026, Kuching: What a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend celebrating women and giving back! We extend our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Marian Chin, the creator and editor of Kuching In and Out (KINO) for inviting us to speak and for donating sales proceeds from the event in support of our organisation.

Our Vice President, Puan Chua Kuan Ching, spoke at the Mother’s Day weekend event themed “Moms Just Wanna Have Fun!” held at Backstreet Venue, Persiaran Ban Hock.

During the event, our VP had the opportunity to share about SWWS’ 41 years of impact and journey in addressing violence and discrimination against women and girls in Sarawak with the attendees. Among the topics presented were our social media campaigns including bukansalahkamek and sweet16.

Thank you once again to Marian Chin for your thoughtful gesture and solidarity. Through support like yours, we are able to continue our vital work for the women of Sarawak, with the women of Sarawak.

12 May 2026, Kota Samarahan: SWWS was delighted to be invited as a speaker for a Mother's Day programme organised by the Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (SALCRA) at their headquarters.

​SWWS Committee Member, Puan Mas Andika, delivered an insightful sharing session titled “Empowering Mothers: Support & Protection” to over 50 female staff members of SALCRA.

​We are honoured to celebrate alongside the mothers and women of Sarawak. Our sincere thanks to SALCRA for inviting us to speak on such a crucial and significant topic, and to all the attendees for their wonderful attention and active participation throughout the session.

12 May 2026, Kuching: The Vice President, Puan Chua Kuan Ching, warmly welcomed a courtesy visit from the International Justice Mission (IJM) at WINNE's Place, located at the Kuching Community Social Support Centre, Wisma Ho Ho Lim.

The courtesy visit was led by Mr. Peter Williams, the Regional President for IJM Asia Pacific. The engagement focused on the services provided by the social workers at WINNE's Place, a comprehensive walkthrough of our current support systems and community impact. The dialogue also provided an opportunity to identify key areas for potential collaboration.

Also present during the visit were Puan Ji Lien Ooi, the Country Director for IJM Malaysia and members of the IJM national team, Puan Mary Ulok, our Senior Social Worker as well as social workers, Puan Siti Nor Aisyah and Cik Nur Ain Qamareeah.
