The Boys’ Brigade Founder’s Centenary Camp

📅 12th – 21st August 1954

71 years ago today, over 2,000 Boys’ Brigade members from around the world gathered on the historic playing fields of Eton College to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of our Founder, Sir William Alexander Smith.

Among those present were two young Sea Dayak boys from Sarawak, Staff Sergeant Charles Henry Ingka and Corporal Albert Kedit, proudly representing the 7th Singapore Company.

Their life-changing experience at Eton helped spark the founding of The Boys’ Brigade in Sarawak via the 1st Kuching Company in 1961.
