Ever wondered how Wesak Day became a national public holiday?

What started as modest gatherings by the Sinhalese community in Penang over a century ago grew into a nationwide movement for recognition. From the petitioning efforts of the Malayan Buddhist Association to its official gazetting in Sarawak in 1980, the journey of Wesak Day is a beautiful reflection of our country’s multicultural fabric.

Swipe left to travel through time and discover the history behind this day of peace and enlightenment.

Saturday at the Borneo Native Festival 2026 is officially in full swing across Central Market KL and Dayabumi, and everyone is having the absolute best festival time immersing themselves in the Borneo culture, music and craft!

The energy today has been unmatched! Our booth was completely buzzing. We were incredibly honored to have a special appearance by the living legend himself, Mr. Mathew Ngau Jau, right at our booth. The crowd brought so much energy to our lively jamming sessions, and we are so grateful for the incredibly warm reception and packed turnout at our Sape Clinic!

But guess what? The excitement doesn't stop here. Are you guys ready to have even MORE fun tomorrow?

Tomorrow (Sunday) at 4:00 PM, the live stages are going to be absolutely legendary. And fear not, if you can’t be there with us physically in KL, you won’t have to miss a single beat! We will be live streaming the magic straight to you.

Be sure to keep a close eye on our page to stay updated and catch the live stream links the moment we go live!

Whether you’re joining us on the ground or tuning in from home, let’s celebrate the Rhythm of Unity together!
