Ready to create a positive impact while gaining valuable hands-on experience?

Join Y-HARVEST 3.0 and be part of a meaningful initiative that brings young people together to connect, exchange perspectives, and learn from diverse communities while working towards a shared vision of unity, sustainability, and inclusive community development.

Through this programme, participants will collaborate with individuals from different backgrounds, embrace new experiences, and contribute to a supportive environment where every voice and contribution is valued.

The programme will be held at Kampung Punang Baru, Lawas, from 26 to 29 August 2026.

Applications are open to Malaysian tertiary students aged 18 to 30 from all universities and institutions of higher learning in Malaysia.

The application period will close on 5 August 2026. If you are ready to build connections, gain hands-on experience, and be part of this meaningful journey, submit your application before the deadline.

On 1 August 1988, Kuching became Malaysia’s third city, marking a new chapter in its journey. Exactly 27 years later, on 1 August 2015, it achieved another historic milestone by being declared the World’s First City of Unity.

Are you ready to make a difference?

Join Y-HARVEST 3.0: Firing Up Youth and Community and become part of a new generation committed to preserving heritage, empowering communities, and fostering unity across Sarawak.

Organised by Yayasan Perpaduan Sarawak (YPS), Y-HARVEST brings together youths from diverse ethnic, cultural, religious, and multiracial backgrounds to learn, collaborate, and grow through meaningful community engagement. By working in intentionally mixed teams, participants build trust, respect, and inclusion while gaining a deeper appreciation of the diverse perspectives, experiences, and aspirations that make Sarawak unique.

Through this immersive four-day experience, participants will learn directly from the Kampung Punang Baru community in Lawas, gain hands-on skills in traditional Tahai production and cottage enterprises, and explore modern approaches to product innovation and digital marketing. Together, participants and the community will preserve local heritage, strengthen sustainable livelihoods, and create meaningful connections that extend beyond the programme.

At Baram Regatta, every paddle stroke tells a story of perseverance, teamwork and community.

Piala Perpaduan continues to honour the values that have always defined YPS bringing people together through collaboration, mutual respect and a shared sense of belonging. Every team member reminds us that success is achieved when everyone rows in the same motion and direction.

Piala Etnik Gemilang is more than just a new race category, it is a powerful celebration of Sarawak's multicultural harmony. Bringing together participants from different ethnic communities into one race boat, the competition reflects a simple but yet meaningful message of Diversity is our greatest strength.

Three years ago, YPS proudly marked a historic milestone by introducing the Piala Perpaduan to the iconic Baram Regatta or fondly known as the “Mother of All Regattas.” It was more than a trophy; it was a celebration of teamwork, unity and the spirit that binds Sarawak's diverse communities together.

This year, we're returning to the Baram River with even greater purpose.

Alongside the return of the Piala Perpaduan, YPS proudly introduces the Piala Etnik Gemilang, a brand-new category that celebrates the beauty of Sarawak's multicultural identity, where paddlers from different ethnic backgrounds race together as one team, united by one goal.

Because true victory is not only measured at the finish line but it is built through teamwork, trust, respect and unity.
