International Centre for Responsible Tourism - Southeast Asia The ICRT Southeast Asia was founded on 9th February 2023, serves as a regional partner of the international ICRT.

Our mission is to promote Responsible Tourism principles as defined in the Cape Town Declaration across Southeast Asia. ICRT-SEA is a pioneering centre that connects members who share a common goal in developing and advocating tourism development through responsible actions using research, education, training, community engagement and partnership. Inspired by Professor Harold Goodwin and Responsib

le Tourism Partnership, ICRT-SEA is set up to initiate and perpetuate the global responsible tourism movement in the region of Southeast Asia. It aims to harness partnerships between tourism academics, practitioners and communities to promote and realise the responsible tourism initiatives in Southeast Asia for sustainable development. ICRT-SEA is led by Dr Hiram Ting, Director of Responsible Borneo (REBORN), and made up by committee members in this region. REBORN is a signatory of 2022 Responsible Tourism Charter.

We are thrilled to invite you to participate in the Responsible Tourism Awards Southeast Asia 2026 (RTA-SEA 2026), organised by the International Centre for Responsible Tourism in Southeast Asia (ICRT-SEA) in collaboration with ICRT Global, and proudly supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak and Borneo Empurau Farm and Resort.

Open to individuals, organisations, and community-based projects of all sizes, the Awards shine a spotlight on impactful efforts that reduce environmental footprints, uplift local livelihoods, and set examples that can be replicated across the region. Participation is free, and submissions will be evaluated based on measurable positive impact, innovation, and best practices. Winners will gain regional recognition and may qualify for the prestigious global awards.
