Sarawak Health Pharmacy Allied Association (SHPAA) is pleased to announce that the Sarawak Journal of Pharmacy (SJP) is now officially part of SHPAA.

SHPAA is a professional platform dedicated to strengthening research, innovation, and quality improvement among pharmacists, pharmacist assistants, and other healthcare professionals in Sarawak. With a strong focus on advancing pharmacy practice, SHPAA aims to support knowledge sharing, professional collaboration, and the development of evidence-based healthcare initiatives.

Sarawak Journal of Pharmacy (SJP) has featured original scientific articles since 2015 and was established to provide a platform for local practising pharmacists in Sarawak to share their research findings while fostering a healthy and sustainable research culture. Over time, the journal has evolved and now welcomes contributions not only from local researchers but also from the international research community.

SJP is the official journal of the Sarawak Pharmaceutical Services Division, managed by a team of dedicated practising pharmacists. To enhance accessibility and facilitate the timely dissemination of research, SJP now adopts a continuous (rolling) publication model, where accepted articles are published online as soon as they are ready rather than waiting for scheduled issues.

📝 Call for Submissions
Researchers, pharmacists, pharmacist assistants, pharmacy students, and other healthcare professionals are warmly invited to submit their research articles, review papers, innovation projects, and quality improvement initiatives to SJP and contribute to the advancement of pharmacy practice.

Statement of Appreciation
Sarawak Health Pharmacy Allied Association (SHPAA)

The Sarawak Health Pharmacy Allied Association (SHPAA), representing Pharmacists and Assistant Pharmacists serving under the Ministry of Health Malaysia in Sarawak, wishes to express our deepest appreciation to the Sarawak Government for the recent announcement of a RM700 one-off special assistance for federal civil servants serving in Sarawak.

This meaningful gesture reflects the State Government’s continued commitment to recognising the dedication, sacrifices, and essential services rendered by healthcare personnel, including the pharmacy workforce, across urban, rural, and remote areas of Sarawak. The support extended will certainly uplift the morale of our members and further strengthen our resolve to continue delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care to the rakyat.

SHPAA conveys its heartfelt gratitude to the Premier of Sarawak and the Sarawak Government
for this thoughtful and inclusive initiative. We remain steadfast in our commitment to serving the people of Sarawak and look forward to continuing our close collaboration with the State in advancing healthcare excellence.

🌟 SHPAA Workshop Highlight 🌟

Sarawak Health Pharmacy Allied Association (SHPAA) successfully organised a workshop titled “Mastering AI Research Tools for Effective Academic Writing” on 17 November 2025 at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Kuching.

We were thrilled to have 30 pharmacists and assistant pharmacists join us for this meaningful session, aimed at empowering participants with practical skills on leveraging AI tools to enhance research and academic writing.

A huge thank you to our speaker, Ts. Dr. Chew Chiou Sheng from the College of Computing, Informatics and Mathematics, UiTM Melaka Branch, for delivering an insightful and engaging workshop!

SHPAA remains committed to bringing more educational and professional development programs to our members. We look forward to organising similar workshops and expanding them to other parts of Sarawak in the near future.
