Philatelic Society of Malaysia (PSM) was established as Selangor Stamp Club (SSC) on September 13, 1947 by its founder, the late Dr. A.R.Kandiah. It held its first exhibition in 1950. With the establishment of the Selangor Club, organised philately in Malaysia has made great strides. National and regional exhibitions of international standards were held regularly, including the 5th FIAP Asian International held @ Kuala Lumpur in 1992, Malpex 97, KL Show 2003 & 2004, Tri-Nation - 3rd Stamp Exhibition 2013, World Youth Stamp Exhibition and 29th FIAP Asian Stamp Exhibition 2014 and recently FourNation Stamp Exhibition 2015. It co-founded the Inter-Asian Philatelic Federation(FIAP) and organised FIAP's very first meeting in Kuala Lumpur. Many of our members had won prestigious accolades and awards, including the coveted Large Gold. On June 19, 1970, The SSC changed its name to Philatellic Society of Malaysia (PSM). A Proud Milestone for Malaysian Philately at Five-Nation Perlis, Malaysia 2026 ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ ๐Ÿ“ฎ

The Philatelic Society Malaysia (PSM) is proud to share the success of the Five-Nation Stamp Exhibition Perlis, Malaysia 2026 held at Dewan 2020, Kangar from 25 to 27 September.

The exhibition was graced by His Royal Highness Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin ibni Almarhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail, Raja of Perlis, who officiated the event. The opening programme was attended by His Royal Highness Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra ibni Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, Raja Muda of Perlis; Her Royal Highness Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, Raja Puan Muda of Perlis; and Yang Amat Mulia Hajah Sharifah Farah Adriana binti Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail.

Also present were YB Datoโ€™ Seri Ahmad Fahmi bin Mohamed Fadzil, Minister of Communications, who delivered the opening speech, and YAB Tuan Abu Bakar bin Hamzah, Menteri Besar of Perlis. The event was attended by Datuk Abdul Halim bin Hamzah, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Communications; YB Datoโ€™ Noor Azman bin Abdul Rahman, Perlis State Secretary; Erwin Khairul bin Ahmad, Director-General of the Malaysian Information Department; state dignitaries, agency representatives and international delegates.

The exhibition welcomed approximately 10,000 visitors, including more than 1,000 students from across Malaysia. It featured 98 exhibits across 325 frames, representing six countries. Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam took part, with Bangladesh participating as a guest country.

A major highlight was Malaysia earning medals for all 23 competitive exhibitsโ€”the countryโ€™s best-ever result at a Five-Nation exhibition. Malaysian exhibitors received three Gold, seven Large Vermeil, five Vermeil, five Large Silver, two Silver and one Bronze.

The exhibition also celebrated the achievements of young philatelists. Six of the 12 exhibitors in Class 12A, for ages 10 to 15, were from Malaysia. Malaysian youth exhibitors earned one Large Vermeil and one Vermeil, setting new national milestones beyond the previous best of Large Silver. ๐Ÿ‘

Students from approximately 29 schools took part in KESEF educational sessions, activities and competitions, introducing them to stamp collecting and philately.

PSM extends its sincere appreciation to the Raja of Perlis, the Perlis State Government, the Ministry of Communications, MOTAC, the Ministry of Education, MCMC, PADAT, Pos Malaysia Berhad and all supporting agencies and partners.

Special thanks go to Mr. Mohd Irzat Rozaidy bin Mohamadi Roseli and the PSSI team; Mr. Nazrulizam bin Kamaruddin and the Perlis State Secretaryโ€™s Office team; and Mr. Haidan Abdul Rahman and the Pos Malaysia team. PSM also thanks the participating countries, National Commissioners, exhibitors, jurors, volunteers and the hardworking organising committee members from PSM and PSSI for their dedication and support.

Congratulations also to Cikgu Nurul Aida on the hard work in managing the Malaysian exhibits and on her first time experience being a National Commissioner.

Sharing a post from our President Salim Ali on Malaysia Day 2026:

โ€œJust 9 more days to go before the Five-Nation Stamp Exhibition Perlis, Malaysia 2026.

After months of preparation, I am very much looking forward to welcoming everyone to Dewan 2020 in Kangar from 25 to 27 September 2026.

There will be many interesting programmes for collectors, families, young people and anyone who would like to discover more about stamps, postal history and heritage. Visitors can view remarkable philatelic exhibits, attend sharing sessions, meet collectors from Malaysia and overseas, and browse through booths operated by stamp dealers from Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia.

Pos Malaysia will also present with its special edition Five-Nation Stamp. Visitors will have the opportunity to prepare their own First Day Covers featuring a special cancellation & cachet available only in Perlis during the exhibition.

Admission is free, and there is no need to register or make a reservation. Just walk in.

If you are travelling from outside Perlis, do take the opportunity to spend the weekend, enjoy the local food and discover what our northest state has to offer.

To my friends in Perlis, I hope you will come and support this international event taking place in our own state.
