FACS - First Aid Course for Snakebites and Marine Envenoming held at Dewan Utama, Level M2, Kompleks LADA, Langkawi on 16th May 2026 successfully brought together various agencies, medical personnel, wildlife experts, and conservation communities in raising awareness about venomous animal emergencies in Malaysia. The course was designed to educate participants on the correct first aid procedures for snakebites, jellyfish stings, and other marine envenoming incidents that commonly occur in tropical environments.
The program was also conducted in collaboration with Jabatan PERHILITAN Semenanjung Malaysia with Puan Wani Ismail , alongside several supporting organizations and health-related agencies. Through both theoretical sessions and practical demonstrations, participants gained valuable exposure to real-life emergency situations, including safe response techniques, risk reduction, and proper patient management before medical treatment is administered at healthcare facilities.
One of the main objectives of the course was to correct common public misconceptions regarding snakebite first aid while promoting evidence-based emergency response practices. The event also served as an important platform to strengthen public knowledge, wildlife awareness, and human safety in encounters involving venomous animals.
As a continuation of this initiative, another upcoming event will be held at the same venue on 22nd August 2026, featuring more educational, conservation, and wildlife safety activities.
