The ASI Best Sommelier of Asia & Pacific 2025 came to an end on a high note last week in Kuala Lumpur, and we are still buzzing from it all.

We have 14 courageous & brilliant sommeliers from across Asia and Oceania showed their passion, skill and heart in every round. From early mornings to late nights, so many people poured their energy into making this happen.

A huge TERIMA KASIH, ASI – Association de la Sommellerie Internationale for entrusting Sommelier Association of Malaysia (SOMLAY) to host this prestigious event with the trust of following ASI partners.

Terima kasih to our local sponsors & partners who stood behind us. Thank you for your trust in us & the supports!

Terima Kasih to all the Technical Judges who ensured the Competition was held at the highest standard of professionalism.

And of course, to the competitors; you inspired me (and all of us!) with your professionalism, humility and love for hospitality. Congratulations to Reeze Choi as the champion, Yi Ying Yong the first runner-up & Ratmir Akhmetov, the 2nd runner up.

Thank you to all of our organising team & volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of the event. Not forgetting, all the guests who came to support the competition, your presence made these moments special!

Hosting this contest for the first time in Malaysia has been an honour and a joy. It has strengthened SOMLAY’s connections with the international sommelier community, grown our capabilities as an association, and shone a spotlight on Malaysia’s vibrant hospitality scene.

Here’s to growing the wine and beverage culture together in our region. 🥂

We still can't believe that the ASI Contest Best Sommelier of Asia & Pacific 2025 is over 🤯 What an eventful week it was in Malaysia! 🤩
