The meeting served as an important platform to strengthen collaboration among chambers of commerce and industry associations in promoting integrity, transparency, ethical business practices and anti-corruption compliance within the business community.

The meeting was chaired by Mr Mohd Rais Ramli, Director of the Public and Business Sector Integrity Centre, Institut Integriti Malaysia (IIM), with guidance from PPj Mahendran Vrejenan, Head of the Private Sector Branch, Community Education Division, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Discussions focused on the strategic direction and role of the Caucus in promoting ethical work culture, legal compliance, good governance and corruption-free business practices across the trade and services sectors. The Caucus was also encouraged to play an active role in raising awareness on integrity and anti-corruption, promoting compliance with business codes of ethics, implementing anti-bribery management system, and enhancing transparency in business dealings.

The meeting also discussed the role of the Caucus as a collaborative platform between the private sector and government agencies in expanding anti-corruption messaging, particularly to youth and entrepreneurs, as well as the proposed organisation of Internal Anti-Corruption Day 2026 (Hari Anti Rasuah Antarabangsa (HARA) 2026) scheduled to be celebrated on December 9, 2026.

What Manufacturing SMEs Must Know About Security, Legal Exposure & Recovery

This seminar explains in simple terms why cyber risks are now a serious business issue for manufacturing SMEs, and not just an IT concern. It will also discuss the real situation behind cyber insurance, including the challenges SMEs face in obtaining coverage, the requirements insurers expect before approval, and why the claims process following a cyber incident can often be slow, complicated, and frustrating. Also, highlight the gap between having insurance in place and being genuinely protected, especially when cybersecurity controls are weak.

โ˜€๏ธ FMM Launches the Solar Roof Initiative

The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM) is proud to launch the FMM Solar Roof Initiative on June 8, 2026 at Wisma FMM, a platform for industry collaboration and practical action to accelerate solar energy adoption, strengthen energy resilience and support Malaysia's energy transition.

Launched in conjunction with the Forum on Accelerating Solar Adoption in Manufacturing: Policy Updates, Industry Challenges & Practical Pathways, the initiative also commemorates World Environment Day 2026, celebrated globally on 5 June. This year's theme focuses on urgent climate action, underscoring the importance of transitioning towards cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions.

The initiative aims to empower manufacturers through awareness, knowledge sharing, stakeholder engagement and policy advocacy, while fostering a supportive ecosystem for renewable energy adoption across the manufacturing sector.

During the forum, representatives from the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA), Energy Commission (ST), Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (BOMBA) shared insights on policy developments, regulatory requirements and practical considerations for solar deployment, including fire safety compliance.

As manufacturers navigate rising energy costs and increasing global uncertainties, renewable energy is no longer just an environmental consideration, it is a strategic investment in competitiveness, resilience and sustainable growth.

Together, let us accelerate the transition towards a cleaner, stronger and more resilient manufacturing sector.

FMM, led by President Mr Jacob Lee Chor Kok, together with Deputy President Dato' Andrew Goh Boon Kim, Vice President Datuk Norani Soltan and Chairman of the FMM Selangor-KL Branch Dr Helena Eian Yeut Lan, met with Mr Hiddo Houben, EU Chief Negotiator for the Malaysia-EU Free Trade Agreement (MEUFTA), and His Excellency Mr Rafael Daerr, Ambassador of the European Union to Malaysia, on June 4, 2026 to discuss industry priorities for the ongoing negotiations.

FMM reaffirmed its strong support for the timely conclusion of MEUFTA, highlighting the importance of ensuring that Malaysian manufacturers are able to compete on an equal footing with regional peers that already benefit from preferential access to the EU market. Key priorities raised included comprehensive tariff elimination, practical and commercially meaningful rules of origin, reduction of non-tariff barriers, sustainability cooperation, digital trade facilitation and dedicated support for SMEs.

Particular emphasis was placed on the need for diagonal cumulation arrangements involving ASEAN economies that already have FTAs with the EU, including Singapore and Vietnam, to better reflect regional supply chains and maximise utilisation of the agreement. FMM also highlighted the importance of addressing regulatory and compliance challenges relating to conformity assessment, REACH, EUDR and CBAM through greater cooperation, technical assistance and recognition of Malaysia's existing sustainability frameworks.

The meeting provided a valuable platform for industry to share its perspectives directly with the EU negotiating team and underscored the shared interest in achieving a balanced, forward-looking and commercially meaningful agreement that strengthens trade, investment and economic cooperation between Malaysia and the European Union.
