The meeting served as an important platform to strengthen collaboration among chambers of commerce and industry associations in promoting integrity, transparency, ethical business practices and anti-corruption compliance within the business community.
The meeting was chaired by Mr Mohd Rais Ramli, Director of the Public and Business Sector Integrity Centre, Institut Integriti Malaysia (IIM), with guidance from PPj Mahendran Vrejenan, Head of the Private Sector Branch, Community Education Division, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
Discussions focused on the strategic direction and role of the Caucus in promoting ethical work culture, legal compliance, good governance and corruption-free business practices across the trade and services sectors. The Caucus was also encouraged to play an active role in raising awareness on integrity and anti-corruption, promoting compliance with business codes of ethics, implementing anti-bribery management system, and enhancing transparency in business dealings.
The meeting also discussed the role of the Caucus as a collaborative platform between the private sector and government agencies in expanding anti-corruption messaging, particularly to youth and entrepreneurs, as well as the proposed organisation of Internal Anti-Corruption Day 2026 (Hari Anti Rasuah Antarabangsa (HARA) 2026) scheduled to be celebrated on December 9, 2026.
