Further Progress on Corporate Sector and Veteran Joint Development Programme led by RMNOA

Collaboration Framework for Navy Veterans Placement in the IT Sector
On 4 June 2026, a meeting to explore a collaboration that
could place Navy Veterans in IT engineering roles at NTT MSC Sdn
Bhd (NTT) was attended by representatives of RMNOA EC,
PVTLDM, and NTT at Trenergy Infrastructure Sdn Bhd.

The meeting
was coordinated by Tarmizi Tun Dr Ismail. The discussion focused on four main areas: NTT’s business
and hiring needs, the fit between capabilities and technical roles of
Navy Veterans, the practical challenges of building a sustainable
employment pipeline, and a proposed pilot model to move the
collaboration forward.

Enhanced Leadership Training for Navy Veterans . In the afternoon at the same venue, a separate discussion on Leadership Roundtable program organized by Tarmizi Tun Dr Ismail & Partners Sdn Bhd was led by Dr Shahreen Madros. Dr Shahreen is an eminent person in the area of leadership who had served with Malaysian Multi National Corporation and worked with PEMANDU and also as the CEO of MATRADE. He sits on the Board of Directors of several Main Board listed companies and is
currently an Adjunct Professor at UKM and conducts leadership training and development
programmes.

Work is in progress by RMNOA to move toward the formal engagement of theses two initiatives. Watch this space – more to follow.

NOTICE For RMNOA AGM 2026

RMNOA 19th AGM on 16 May 2026
at KD SRI GOMBAK

The Executive Committee (EC) held a Committee Meeting at Wisma Perwira ATM, Jalan Tekpi, Kuala Lumpur today and amongst several matters discussed and resolved
was to fix a date for the forthcoming 19th AGM at KD SRI GOMBAK.
The date was decided to be 16 May 2026. Members are kindly reminded to keep the date on the diary
and attend the AGM as it also coincides with the occasion for
the election of Committee Members/Office Bearers for the
term 2026/2028. More details would be announced in due
course.

Meanwhile, in line with the call by the Government to be thrifty and keep expenses to a practical and realistic level in this time of economic uncertainties due to
repercussion and impact of the ongoing Middle East crisis,
EC decided not to hold an Open House gathering both for
the Chinese New Year and Hari Raya Puasa as in the past but instead members would gather during the AGM in May for a Majlis Rahmah Mesra to celebrate
RMN Navy Day and the 90th birthday of our Patron NV Tan Sri K
Thanabalasingam.

It is a pleasure to note that also present in the EC Meeting today was NV Normah Binti Amir Hussein (sitting on the left to NV Suryati) who had volunteered to be the incoming Honorary Treasurer in the coming AGM relieving
NV Puah Bok Chuan who had held the post for 16 years since 2008.

The EC also wish to encourage members to come forward volunteer to serve in the Committee in the forthcoming term 2026/2028.
