Women Of Will

Women Of Will Women Of Will is an NGO that empowers low-income women entrepreneurs from underserved communities through training, coaching and capital.

Women Of Will aims to transform the lives of disadvantaged women and their communities through micro-credit financing combined with an Entrepreneurial Development Program. We helps single mothers, widows, abandoned women and women with incapacitated husbands living in poverty and uncertainty, struggling to get by day to day. Supporting both international and national objectives in eradicating pove

rty, our efforts are focused on the bottom 40% household incomes (B40s), prioritising single mothers as they are most economically vulnerable, having to support themselves and their children. This falls in line with the Government’s 11th Malaysian Plan, which looks at uplifting the lives of single mothers who constitute 80% of single parenthood families. Since 2009, we have worked to give a new lease of life to hundreds of refugees in collaboration with UNHCR, the urban poor in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, and in Perak. These women have been empowered to initiate their own small businesses and today, are financially independent and able to care for themselves and their families without having to rely on handouts. Their business ventures have been developed to become sustainable business ventures that have shown growth and profitability, and most important, sustainability.

Listening to communities, building stronger futures together. 💜

Women Of Will (WOW) recently held a Focus Group Discussion in Muadzam Shah, Rompin, Pahang, bringing together representatives from government agencies, NGOs, educational institutions and community leaders to better understand the needs and aspirations of the local community.

The session highlighted key opportunities and challenges, particularly around women’s entrepreneurship, skills development, digital marketing, financial literacy, youth leadership and the wellbeing of families and Orang Asli communities.

These insights will help us shape programs that are more inclusive, relevant and sustainable, while strengthening collaboration with the community and our partners.

Together, we can unlock the potential of Muadzam Shah and build a community that is more resilient, inclusive and sustainable for generations to come. 💜

Women Of Will was recently featured in sharing our perspective on the proposed Domestic Violence Registry.

We welcome the proposal as a potential step towards strengthening Malaysia’s response to domestic violence, particularly in identifying repeat offenders and enabling agencies to better coordinate their responses.

However, our work and experience on the ground show that a registry alone will not address the complex realities of domestic violence.

Survivors may interact with multiple agencies and support systems throughout their journey. Without stronger coordination, timely information sharing and appropriate follow-up, opportunities for early intervention and protection may be missed.

A registry must also be implemented with strong safeguards to protect victims’ privacy, confidentiality and safety, while ensuring that the data collected is accurate and used appropriately.

Beyond tracking repeat offenders, we need to strengthen the wider protection ecosystem — including early intervention, risk assessment, access to shelters and psychosocial support, rehabilitation, economic empowerment and community reintegration.

We see the proposed registry as an important component of a broader protection system — one that not only responds to violence when it occurs, but also works towards preventing recurrence and supporting survivors to rebuild their lives free from violence.

✨ Investing in Women, Strengthening Livelihoods 🌱💼

A new chapter begins for our women entrepreneurs as they receive the support needed to transform their business aspirations into sustainable opportunities.

Women Of Will (WOW) successfully conducted the 1st Disbursement Session for women entrepreneurs from PPR Seri Sena & PPR Bintong, Perlis, marking an important milestone under our entrepreneurship empowerment initiatives.

The session supported:
👩‍💼 18 women entrepreneurs from PPR Seri Sena
👩‍💼 1 woman entrepreneur from PPR Bintong

Together with our EXCO members, Ms. Ruku and Ms. Mano, participants completed the registration and verification process to ensure a smooth and accountable disbursement journey.

Beyond financial support, this milestone represents an investment in women's potential—providing them with greater confidence, resources, and opportunities to strengthen their businesses, increase income resilience, and create better futures for themselves and their communities.

At WOW, we believe that empowering women entrepreneurs goes beyond providing assistance. It is about building pathways for women to grow, thrive, and become drivers of positive change within their communities.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our partners, supporters, team members, and everyone involved in making this initiative possible. Together, we are creating sustainable impact through women-led entrepreneurship. 💙

🍽️ Every meal tells a story.

Did you know that 1 in 3 women in the Women Of Will Entrepreneurship Development Programme are building their dreams through food and beverage businesses? From home kitchens and pasar malam stalls to cafe and catering services, these women are creating opportunities for themselves, their families, and their communities.

With the right training, coaching, and determination, many have grown their businesses and increased their income. Their journey is proof that empowering women creates lasting economic impact.

The next time you buy from a local food vendor, remember: you're not just purchasing a meal. You're supporting a mother's dream, a family's livelihood, and a woman's journey towards financial independence.

Together, let's continue empowering women entrepreneurs. 💜
