Bridging Conservation and Innovation for Sustainable Agriculture

A productive engagement today with Dr. Mohd Norfaizal Bin Ghazalli, Deputy Director of the Agrobiodiversity Resource Management and Conservation Programme, and the MyGeneBank™️, MARDI team exploring pathways to establish sorghum as a viable crop in Malaysia. Since sorghum is non-native, our discussion focused on genetic resources, germplasm management, and regulatory compliance to ensure a safe and sustainable introduction.

This strategic alignment leverages MyGeneBank’s critical role as Malaysia’s National Gene Bank. By combining scientific conservation with modern agricultural research, we aim to bridge the gap in crop resilience and adaptation potential. This collaboration marks an important step toward long-term sustainability and regional food security.

What an unforgettable way to close this chapter!

We just wrapped up our very last session with an incredible group of over 120 dedicated school leaders. The energy in the room was high, making it a bittersweet but perfect finale to our journey together. This final workshop focused heavily on cementing core digital leadership skills and strategies, equipping our educators to build actionable plans for modern classrooms.

A massive shoutout goes to our speaker of the day, Abu Ziyad, who did an absolutely amazing job steering this finale! His exceptional delivery, deep expertise, and engaging presence kept everyone captivated from start to finish.

The practical, hands-on approach really hit the mark under his guidance. The breakthrough moments were clear, with some teachers sharing: "We don't have questions because we already understand everything through the demo session and workshop!" Hearing that level of instant clarity and confidence made this one of our most rewarding milestones yet.

The day was also deeply meaningful as it marked Adam Junaidi’s last time being with us as a speaker on behalf of HLAF. To honor his incredible dedication and insights throughout this journey, the team at IAB surprised him with a wonderful appreciation gift. Thank you, Adam, for leading the way with such impact!

The sessions have officially concluded, but the momentum for driving education transformation doesn't stop here. We can’t wait to see how these leaders shape the future!

We are humbled to share the successful official launch of our SustainEDU program and the Pilot Project SustainEDU Junior Award Ceremony, which took place on 25th July in Kuala Pilah during the Hari Kemahiran & Alpha Gen Talents (Potensi) KEMAS Peringkat Negeri Sembilan. The launch ceremony was proudly led by Datuk Mohd Hanafiah Man, Director-General of KEMAS.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development, YAB Dato' Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, for his invaluable support and for presenting the prestigious Johan Award for the SustainEDU Junior Pilot Project to Tabika KEMAS Felda Jelai 1.

This milestone would not be possible without our incredible partners, and we offer a special thank you to YBrs. Prof. Madya ChM. Dr. Noraini Ahmad, Director of the Community Engagement Centre, Universiti Malaya (UMCares), for the generous CAKnA grant sponsorship. The energy was absolutely unmatched! We just wrapped up a phenomenal, high-impact IQRA Workshop under the MyDigital Leaders Programme, bringing together almost 150 incredible school leaders.

This session was all about strengthening reading aptitude and equipping our educators with powerful digital tools for modern classrooms. The breakthrough moments and sheer scale of engagement made this one of our most rewarding sessions yet.

The buzz was so real that one participant nearing retirement shared: "Even nearing retirement, we are absolutely thrilled! Imagine how much the kids are going to love this."

A massive thank you to our amazing volunteers and the IQRA team. Their dedication and seamless support behind the scenes made this high-impact event a massive success.
