Today marks the culmination of several months of hard, meaningful, and deeply fulfilling work. We awarded four new mentorships to deserving young students — each one a quiet investment in the future.

This morning’s REF Award Ceremony was particularly outstanding. We were privileged to hear a powerful testimony from one of our past mentees, Sarissha Selvam — a living reminder of what trust, guidance, and perseverance can achieve.

Even more special was witnessing another outstanding past mentee, Sathes Kumar, step forward to be appointed as a mentor — a beautiful full-circle moment that speaks to the spirit of paying it forward.

We were also honoured by the presence of Prof. Pradeep Nair of the AMMA Foundation, who generously shared about educational pathways and offered university scholarships to mentees who qualify — expanding hope into tangible opportunity.

In addition, Mr S. Rajanthiran A. Shanmugam, a dedicated teacher from SMK Vivekananda was recognised for his outstanding efforts in identifying and recommending suitable candidates to our programme. Partnerships like these remind us that mentorship is never a solo endeavour; it is a collective act of care.

And with the award of our 107th mentorship, we quietly crossed another meaningful milestone. Great work to everyone involved. It was truly an unusual and memorable occasion 🙂

💫 For the past 15 years, we have been steadily developing our mentoring work in collaboration with HELP University’s Department of Behavioural Sciences. RCBKS has served as the practitioners on the ground, while HELPU has provided academic guidance and support.
Today, the REF has evolved into a state-of-the-art student mentoring programme. The continuous feedback loop between practitioners and academia has produced an approach that is both effective and impactful—one that can shape students’ futures and influence local communities in meaningful ways.
Over the years, RCBKS has also accumulated a rich body of knowledge, experience, and skills. These insights are now ready to be shared with anyone who wishes to learn about mentoring—today’s new language for effective leadership.

At the15 Nov Club meeting today, we had the pleasure of the visit of Charter President Onil Shrestha of Rotary E-Club Nepal 3292, our sister club. Guest speaker RCBKS member Kingsley Weber, presently residing in the UK, was also in town for a short visit.

To build a club that lasts, you must own it—take full responsibility for making it vibrant and attractive. Never let frustration overpower your ability to inspire and motivate others to grow. Lead (and follow) with curiosity, care, and nurturing. Be the example of what the club can be, and others will follow. Sustainability comes not just from structure, but from the energy, commitment, and genuine connection that you pour into it every day as a member.
