A relaxing evening in Kota Kinabalu that reflected the continuation of a longstanding shared journey!โœจ

On 25 April, alumni members based in Sabah and Sarawak came together for the first M-ADAA event of 2026. The event convened individuals shaped by common interests; to reconnect with alumni colleagues and to connect with new friends who hold a diverse range of responsibilities across the region.

Australian Defence Advisor, Group Captain Belinda Edmunds, conveyed her appreciation to all who made the effort to attend and contribute to the Alumni network. Her acknowledgement of the strong bonds forged across ranks, services, and levels of experience set a positive and engaging tone for the evening.

The event was further distinguished by the presence of Lieutenant General Datoโ€™ Mohd Sofi bin Md Lepi (Army Field Commander East) and Major General Ash Collingburn (Commander, 1st Australian Division, Australian Army) whose participation contributed valuable perspectives to the dialogue.

More than anything else, it was the sense of familiarity among alumni that defined the night. Despite the passage of time and evolving professional roles, the foundation established through shared experiences remains steadfast.

To stay informed about future engagements and reunions, please ensure your details are up to date:

On 5 April, our M-ADAA Committee convened for the first quarterly meeting of 2026 to discuss key updates, ongoing initiatives, and priorities for the year ahead.

We also began planning a range of upcoming M-ADAA engagement activities, including future dinner functions with our M-ADAA alumni and catch ups to strengthen connections within our community.

We were also honored to welcome the new Australian Defence Advisor, GPCAPT Belinda Edmunds, to her first M ADAA meeting, alongside our new RMN representative, Capt Sharedzwan.

We look forward to deepening collaboration and building momentum for an active and engaging year ahead.

Stay connected!๐ŸŽ‰
