Sixty-five years ago, on August 13, 1961, the East German leadership sealed off the border between East and West Berlin overnight – the construction of the Berlin Wall began. For almost three decades, it divided the city and separated families and friends. For Michael, who was 13 at the time, this day became a turning point in his life.

🏫 As part of the initiative “Schools: Partners for the Future” (PASCH), the Goethe-Institut organises courses for students from PASCH schools around the world. These PASCH youth courses take place in Germany and offer a great opportunity for scholarship holders to learn German and network with like-minded people from over 100 nations. The courses last three weeks and include intensive German lessons, leisure activities, trips and excursions.

Seven Malaysian PASCH students just returned from an unforgettable three-week adventure at the PASCH Youth Course 2026!

From learning German in the classroom to exploring new places, meeting friends from around the world, and experiencing everyday life in Germany, every day brought something new to discover. ✨

This journey was not only about language learning, but also about building confidence, sharing cultures, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. 💚
