🎉 75 Jahre Goethe-Institut: Wir in der Welt.

Since 1951, the Goethe-Institut is connecting people across borders. What began 75 years ago is now a global network for encounters, dialogue and cultural cooperation. In our anniversary year, 2026, we will look back on these stories and encounters, whilst also demonstrating how language, culture and education continue to build bridges and shape the future today.

Take a guess: How far apart are our institutes? And in which one is the air probably thinnest? "We in the World" is our motto, because the Goethe-Institut network spans the entire globe.

🎬 At the beginning of the 19th century, Alexander von Humboldt traveled to South America to survey the continent and discover new life. Carl Friedrich Gauss, on the other hand, researched at home at his desk and became a renowned mathematician. Despite their differences, they shared a great curiosity, with which they both contributed to exploring the world. 🗺️🔍

The novel "Measuring the World" has been translated into over 40 languages and is one of the most successful German books of the post-war era. The author, Daniel Kehlmann, co-wrote the screenplay for the film adaptation. 📖🎬
