𝗞𝗜𝗪𝗙 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗼𝗻-𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

On 30th September, Khadijah International Waqf Foundation (KIWF) had the privilege of joining non-profit leaders and changemakers from across the nation at the National Symposium on Non-Profit Organisations 2026, held at Menara SSM@Sentral. Chairman, Hj. Rohani Mohd Shahir and Council Member, Hjh Mazlina Saidi, were representing KIWF at the Symposium.

The National Symposium on Non-Profit Organisations 2026 is a key national platform aimed at strengthening governance, regulatory compliance, and operational standards for Malaysian NPOs.

KIWF was also invited to set up a dedicated booth to showcase its projects, including Khadijah Transit Home and Khadijah Artisans Mentoring Program. It was also an honour for our booth to be visited by the Deputy Minister of Finance, YB Liew Chin Tong. Handcrafted products were featured by Khadijah Artisans for sale at the booth, supporting and empowering women artisans through entrepreneurship.

KIWF extends heartfelt congratulations to The Honourable Datin Paduka Mastura Hj. Muhamad, Director of the Selangor Public Library Corporation (PPAS), on being awarded the Selangor Women's Icon!

The Khadijah Artisans Mentoring Program (KAMP 2.0) successfully wrapped up its second day of mentoring on 25 September 2026.

Throughout Day 2, participants took the stage to master Public Speaking with Dr. Wan Maimun, followed by an engaging photoshoot and videography session. Professional photographers captured corporate pictures and product photos for marketing campaigns and catalogue creation.

As we near the end of our mentoring sessions, the way forward is for our mentees to apply the rich knowledge and skills to build their businesses and shape their own bright futures.

The Khadijah Artisans Mentoring Program (KAMP 2.0) successfully held its Day 1 mentoring session on 24 September 2026 at Bangunan Persekutuan Ipoh.

Initiated under the Khadijah International Waqf Foundation, Khadijah Artisans is a platform dedicated to empowering women entrepreneurs and local artisans by providing them with the skills, mentorship, and resources needed to build sustainable, and thriving businesses.

Throughout the day, participants explored essential topics including human values and noble traits modeled after Saidatina Khadijah RA, business and digitalization strategies, business sustainability, and effective product promotion through social media to strengthen both personal and entrepreneurial growth.

The sessions are coming to a close as KAMP 2.0 reaches towards its end. The mentees continue to grow together to strengthen a supportive artisan community network.

KIWF had the honour of meeting Dato’ Wan Kamaruzaman bin Wan Ahmad, Chairman of MBSB Berhad, alongside Mr Huzaini Hamdi and Mr Ashraf Gomma Ali on 17th September 2026.

Discussions centred on expanding Waqf as a sustainable social finance instrument across KIWF’s 5 Strategic Pillars, measuring success through Social Return on Investment (SROI) to ensure true, lasting socio-economic value.

𝗥𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗰𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗛𝗖𝗧𝗠 𝗨𝗞𝗠

In conjunction with Malaysia Day, a special celebration was jointly organised by the Lions Club and KIWF at Ronald McDonald House HCTM UKM to bring moments of happiness and hope to children fighting cancer.

KIWF was delighted to be part of the program's content by conducting an interactive Batik Painting Workshop led by Cikgu Hamidah, a talented artisan from the Khadijah Artisans Mentoring Program (KAMP 2.0). The session provided the children with a therapeutic, creative outlet to express themselves, discover the beauty of traditional Malaysian art, and share uplifting moments with their loved ones.

The day reached a heartwarming high note as the best entries were celebrated with cheers and applause, honouring the resilience, incredible talent, and bright smiles of the young participants.

This initiative exemplifies the broader mission of Khadijah Artisans. Beyond providing structured mentorship to empower local artisans, the Khadijah Artisans ecosystem actively bridges training with social impact. By enabling artisans like Cikgu Midah to lead community workshops, the program transforms mentored skills into direct community contributions, using art to heal and unite vulnerable groups across society.

Khadijah International Waqf (L) Foundation had the honour of attending the Impakrintas Social Exchange: NPO Outreach & Briefing on 3 September 2026.

The session highlighted the Impakrintas Social Exchange as an alternative pathway for fundraising, regulated by Securities Commission, one that goes beyond traditional ask-and-give models by emphasizing strong governance, transparency, and sustainable donor relationships.

Building a regulated environment with stronger governance and accountability is key to strengthening the social impact ecosystem, building public trust, helping funders make informed decisions, and connecting more funding to meaningful impact.

𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗦𝗥𝗢𝗜) 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴

Khadijah International Waqf (L) Foundation was honoured to attend the Social Return on Investment (SROI) Training on 1 September 2026, organized by Yayasan Bursa Malaysia.

The session was conducted by Dr. Jane Chang and team from Social Value Malaysia which deliver a wonderful session that conveyed a powerful reminder that SROI is not just a reporting tool but a decision-making framework.

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻:

• 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁: Moving beyond tracking activities to understanding and measuring the real social impact, including how intangible outcomes can create tangible value.
• 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: SROI helps connect data, theory, and real-world outcomes, allowing us to better understand not just what we do, but the difference we make.
• 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Impact should be considered from the beginning. Using data, strategy, and human outcomes throughout the project helps create interventions that are meaningful and sustainable.

Greatest gratitude to Yayasan Bursa Malaysia for the opportunity for KIWF to be part of this meaningful and insightful session.

Creating impact is the first step, understanding, measuring, and sustaining it is where true transformation happens.
