INTERNATIONAL | BS Veterinary Technology Recognized in the UAE 🇵🇭🇦🇪

Congratulations to Mr. Ryan D. Padernal, BSc. Vet Tech, FPVTNA, a Filipino Veterinary Technician currently working in the United Arab Emirates, for receiving his Academic Qualification Recognition Report from the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) for his Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology degree from the University of Southern Mindanao (USM).

This achievement marks an important milestone for the BS Veterinary Technology program of USM, demonstrating that the degree earned in Kabacan, Cotabato, Philippines, can undergo formal academic recognition under the UAE's system for foreign higher education qualifications. It also highlights the potential international opportunities for Filipino Veterinary Technology graduates.

However, academic recognition is separate from professional licensure. Recognition of the qualification does not automatically grant authorization to practice in the UAE, as graduates must still meet the professional requirements and classification regulations governing veterinary paraprofessionals, including Veterinary Technicians.

Once again, congratulations to Mr. Padernal and to the USM BS Veterinary Technology program on this significant milestone! May this achievement open more opportunities for Filipino Veterinary Technology graduates and further strengthen the international recognition of the profession. 🎓🐾🇵🇭🇦🇪

KEYNOTE HIGHLIGHTS | PVTNA 2nd Anniversary Online Conference

A meaningful day of learning, inspiration, and appreciation for everyone who plays an important role in veterinary allied care.

Our keynote highlights featured powerful stories and messages that reminded us that everybody needs a “Steve” — someone who guides, supports, inspires, and helps us become better in our careers and in the service we provide.

Dr. Lina Policarpio opened the keynote highlights with an inspiring message on the importance of recognizing the people behind our professional growth — the mentors, colleagues, and individuals who make a difference along the way.

Dr. Luchi Orlanda, shared the keynote address “PVTNA + PAHA: It Takes a Team to Heal.” Her message emphasized the importance of collaboration, recognizing veterinary technologists and nurses as essential members of the clinical team, and breaking down barriers to create better pathways in veterinary care.

We were also reminded through the story of Steve that behind every successful career is often someone who believed, guided, encouraged, or simply showed up when we needed support.

These keynote messages remind us that veterinary care is not built by one person alone. It takes competence, compassion, collaboration, and a strong team.
