SELANGOR CHEE FEE TAI CHI PHYSICAL CULTURE ASSOCIATION

Objective: Registered as a society in 1967 for promoting personal fitness and well-being through practicing “Tai Ji Quan” and other martial arts. Establishment: Operations began in 1967 with Sifu Nip Chee Fee, assisted by senior disciples, supervising and conducting lessons in “Tai ji Quan” (Yang Style), “Chai Li Foh” and “Po Ci” (or more com

monly known as “Pock Kek”) until his retirement in early 1980s. At may request for effective and “easy-to-learn” combat form, Sifu Nip Chee Fee founded “Pock Kek”. Sifu Nip Chee Fee: A legendary “Kung Fu” master born in Zhong Shan, Guang Dong Province in year 1899. Brought up in typically Chinese martial arts environment. He learned and practiced variety of martial arts at an early age. He found his speciality in “Chai Li Foh”. His incessant quest landed him as a student of the famous “Tai Ji Quan” master, Yang Cheng Fu (1883-1936)

Sifu Nip Chee Fee came to Malaya (no Malaysia) in 1953 through the “Jing Wu” (Chin Woo) network to teach “Tai Ji Quan”. Sifu’s deep understanding of Chinese philosophy and self-cultivation as well as martial arts earned him an honorary Doctorate of Philosophy in 1968 from the Academia international of Canada. Sifu Nip published a book entitled “Tai Ji Quan Shu Hui Tong” in 1955. Management Committee: The Association is managed by an annually elected committee. Current members:

Activies: Classes are conducted by disciples of Sifu Nip Chee Fee and senior members of Association at its registered premises:
82-C (top floor and roof top) Jalan Hang Kasturi, 50050 Kuala Lumpur since the Association began operation in 1967. Worthy of mention is the Association’s role in organising the Third South East Asia Pugilistic Tournament in Kuala Lumpur 1n 1973 as a charity event.
