What’s up in Zhongshan this Saturday night?

Here’s the programme list for Zhongshan After Hours — a chance to wander through the building and discover what our creative community has prepared for you to delight in, from retail and pop-up sales to exhibitions, food and drinks, and music.

Everything will take place within the existing units and along the back lane — no tents, stages, or temporary structures, just the spaces and people that make this place what it is. So expect small, intimate spaces, and chance encounters along the way.

If you’ve saved the date, see you this Saturday! If not, maybe this will help make up your mind. Bring your friends, bring your family, or just come by yourself and spend the evening with us. It’s free entry and everyone is welcome.

ZHONGSHAN AFTER HOURS 🙂🤗🤩

For one night and one night only, the Zhongshan Building will stay open after hours!

Wander through the building after sunset and discover its small, intimate spaces — from art and design, music, specialty stores, archives, libraries, to food and drinks. Come meet the people behind the spaces, linger a little longer, lepak, and experience Zhongshan in a different light.

Invite your friends, bring your family, or come on your own. It’s free entry. Everyone is welcome.

A few members of our community are coming together to organise Pesztaria vol. 1: NUSANTARA BEAT, this August 5th at Studio AB in Wisma Ali Bawal 2.

Pesztaria is an off-shoot of our annual arts festival PESZTA that hosts satellite events, and we couldn’t be more thrilled that they’re bringing Amsterdam-based, Indonesian-inspired rising star Nusantara Beat to our shores for the first. time. ever!!!!!!

Tickets have been selling fast, but the 2nd batch of General Release tix are dropping TONIGHT (June 26) at 8pm on CloudJoi. Link in PESZTA’s bio!

A quiet moment alone or discovering something new or just sharing with friends and strangers at Zhongshan Building.

For the upcoming - and The Zhongshan Building has been working with a diverse bunch of artists, artisans and arts interested people to do a creative takeover of the quiet Bangunan Pak Peng set in busy Petaling Street.

In its small quiet rooms we encourage people to Rest, Play and Ponteng.

We will also be having workshops and classes on everything from fraying your old school belts into works of art to learning about the history of downtown KL (Drugs, Gambling, Entertainment) to making mixed tapes, to singing karaoke, to main wayang, to having a haircut in front of an artwork of someone getting their hair cut, to sit in a room full of chairs and look at photos of chairs, to getting your future told, to getting a tattoo, to resting, to reading aloud with strangers and in general to encourage people to sit, rest, play and take time out.
