🏭 From Rust to Revival: Reimagining Malaysia's Industrial Landscape through Adaptive Reuse.

Yesterday, ICOMOS Malaysia had the pleasure of hosting "From Rust to Revival: Reimagining Malaysia's Industrial Landscape through Adaptive Reuse." at ARCHIDEX 2026, held at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur.

The session explored the rich industrial heritage of Sungai Lembing, Batu Arang, Brooke Dockyard and Kinta highlighting its historical significance, conservation challenges, and the opportunities to transform former industrial landscapes into vibrant places for education, tourism, and community engagement.

A heartfelt thank you to our distinguished speakers, moderator, and everyone who joined us for the engaging discussion. Your participation reflects the growing interest in preserving Malaysia's industrial heritage for future generations.

Together, let us continue to champion the conservation and adaptive reuse of our industrial heritage as part of our shared cultural legacy.

P/S: There is second part of a half-day visit to Batu Arang on 25 August 2025(Tuesday of Public Holiday, The Prophet's Day). Register now!
