Child s*xual abuse (CSA) remains a serious and often hidden violation of childrenโs rights. Therefore, strengthening awareness, prevention, and survivor-centred response mechanisms becomes essential to building safer communities and ensuring safeguarding of children.
In response, Global Shepherds partnered with Wilmar, with support from the Nestlรฉ Human Rights Fund, administered by Winrock International, to deliver a two-part capacity-building initiative focused on prevention, response, and trauma-informed care. The first workshop, ๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ held on 20 May 2025, equipped participants with practical skills to recognize indicators of CSA, understand legal and reporting responsibilities, and provide compassionate, survivor-centred support through interactive learning, case simulations, and real-time reporting exercises.

Building on this foundation, the second workshop, ๐๐๐ง๐๐ ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐ฏ๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ held on 24 July 2025, strengthened participantsโ ability to respond safely and empathetically when children disclose harm. Using experiential activities, the HEAR-SEE-SPEAK approach, and participatory storyboarding for community awareness, the session emphasized trauma-informed listening, validating language, and the creation of safe spaces that uphold childrenโs dignity and trust.
