We are pleased to share an important milestone in the evolution of the Institutional Investors Council Malaysia (IIC).

Following the approval of the IIC Council, IIC will officially commence operations under its new legal entity, IICM Berhad, a Company Limited by Guarantee (CLBG), effective 1 January 2026. This transition represents a significant step forward in strengthening our governance, transparency, and operational capacity as we continue to serve the Malaysian capital market.

The incorporation of IICM Berhad was completed on 2 May 2025, and the remaining transitional arrangements—covering governance, financial, regulatory, and administrative matters—are currently being finalised in preparation for the commencement date.

Starting 1 January 2026:

• All IIC activities, engagements, documents, and communications will be undertaken under IICM Berhad
• All existing IIC members will automatically become Ordinary Members of IICM Berhad
• A new Associate Membership category (non-voting) will be introduced to enable broader participation from PLCs, private companies, associations, foreign entities, and educational institutions (subject to Council approval)
• All existing contracts, commitments, and ongoing initiatives under the current IIC (ROS) entity will continue to be honoured and progressively transitioned to IICM Berhad
• All IIC social media platforms will be rebranded under the IICM Berhad name
• The existing IIC (ROS) entity will later be placed into dormancy or dissolution, subject to members’ approval at the final IIC AGM in June 2026

Importantly, this transition does not change IIC’s objectives or its role within Malaysia’s corporate governance ecosystem. The current Council will continue to represent institutional investors and uphold IIC’s stewardship responsibilities, including custodianship of the Malaysian Code for Institutional Investors (MCII), within the IICM Berhad structure.

We thank all members and stakeholders for your continued support and partnership as we enter this new phase of growth as IICM Berhad. We remain committed to ensuring a smooth, transparent, and well-governed transition.

Institutional Investors Council Malaysia (IIC) Marks a Decade of Stewardship

We are proud to share a recent article titled "Raising the Bar on Governance & Sustainability," published in The StarBizWeek on 26 July 2025. The article highlights IIC’s 10-year journey in advancing corporate governance, responsible investment, and shareholder activism.

Leadership Continuity at IIC: Datuk Hajah Nik Amlizan Reappointed as Chairman
