KORBAN KAMBING HITAM?

If Nga Kor Ming resigns as he promised, the political pressure could extend to Anthony Loke and the other DAP ministers, potentially putting DAP’s grip on government at risk.

If Nga Kor Min resigns, Anthony Loke and the rest of the Dap ministers will have to resign. Then DAP would have lost their power prematurely and permanently.

So the strategy is Anthony Loke resigns and DAP still retain their grip on the government and benefits from continuing to be in power. Anthony Loke retain his powers by proxy as he is still the Boss of all the DAP cabinet ministers after all.

This is the best move to do damage control as a result of Nga’s big mouth for jumping the gun by promising to resign if BN wins BIG in Johore and Najib receives a pardon.

So the best DAP move is to sacrifice Nga as his reputation has already taken a severe hit. Sacrificing “one sheep” could allow DAP to contain the damage, retain its position in government, and even gain sympathy and the appearance of taking the moral high ground.

In short: sacrifice one sheep, preserve the DAP herd.

In 2024, the Board met on 29 January 2024, chaired by then YDPA Sultan Abdullah. It considered five pardon papers, including Najib’s, and decided to reduce his 12-year sentence by 50% to six years and reduce the fine from RM210 million to RM50 million followed with an order for house arrest.

The 2026 decision yesterday concerns a conditional pardon allowing the remaining imprisonment to be served under house arrest, subject to conditions. The 2026 application was first considered on September 11 and deferred; the Board subsequently met again on September 18.

The meeting resulted in the King granting Najib a conditional pardon allowing him to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest until 23 August 2028, subject to a RM50 million fine and other conditions.

So constitutionally, this was not a different mechanism from the one being used now?

WHEN DID FORGIVENESS BECOME SELECTIVE?

Sepang Umno Division Chairman, Noorazli has apologised. He says he is sorry if his remarks hurt the Christian community and reminds his critics that his religion teaches love, tolerance and forgiveness.

Fair enough.

A sincere apology should be given a fair hearing.

But there is an uncomfortable question that must also be asked:

Does this principle apply to everyone or it is convenient for some only ?

Akmal has often been among the most vigilant and uncompromising voices when others make remarks deemed offensive, insensitive or provocative.

Malaysians must be consistent. Being tolerant and forgiving…or being brutal to others but kind to your own.
