🏆 SKÅL INTERNATIONAL KUALA LUMPUR NAMED SKÅL ASIA CLUB OF THE YEAR 2026 🏆

Skål International Kuala Lumpur is proud and honoured to announce that we have been awarded the prestigious Skål Asia Club of the Year 2026 Award at the 55th Skål Asia Area Congress held in Macau.

This remarkable achievement is made even more special as it marks the first time in our club’s history that we have received this recognition since our charter in 1958.

Competing alongside 41 other Skål clubs across Asia, this award reflects the collective dedication, passion, and commitment of our members in advancing the values of friendship, professionalism, and tourism excellence.

Speaking on the achievement, President Mahendran Daniel said:

🌏 The 55th Skål International Asia Congress is underway in Macau — and Skål Kuala Lumpur is hosting the congress lunch.

The Skål International Asia Congress 2026, taking place at Grand Lisboa Palace on Macau's Cotai Strip from 11 to 14 June, brings together senior tourism and travel professionals from across the Asia Pacific region for the annual gathering of one of the industry's most enduring and widely respected professional networks.

For the uninitiated, Skål International is a global association connecting tourism professionals across airlines, hotels, tour operators, travel agencies, destination management companies and convention bureaus through a network of local clubs that spans more than 80 countries.
The Asia Congress is the regional body's most significant annual event — combining formal governance through the Annual General Meeting with networking, destination showcasing and the relationship-building that underpins professional connections across borders.

The 55th edition's choice of Macau as host destination is well-judged. The city combines UNESCO World Heritage Site credentials, Creative City of Gastronomy status, world-class integrated resort infrastructure and exceptional regional accessibility — through Macau International Airport, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and ferry connections — into a destination that delivers on every dimension a professional congress requires.

Skål Kuala Lumpur is hosting the congress lunch on 13 June — a visible and substantive contribution to the regional programme that reflects the chapter's active engagement with Skål Asia's governance and community. On this Earth Day, Skål International Kuala Lumpur (Club 179) proudly joined hands with Rotary District 3300 and fellow NGOs for a tree planting initiative at Rotary Peace Park, Bestari Jaya.

A special tribute to our President, Sk. Mahendran Daniel, who led the charge for this meaningful initiative — your dedication to building a better world, beyond the boardroom, truly inspires us all. 👏🌿

The event was graced by distinguished guests including the State Assemblyman, representatives from Selangor Tourism and the Selangor Water Management Authority, the Rotary District Governor, Mrs. Earth Malaysia, and leaders from various NGOs — a true coming together of community and purpose.
A heartfelt thank you also to our own Sk. Glory, Rajj, and their family members who turned up for our planet. Your presence means everything! 💚
