Happy New Year - 2025

We wish everyone a Happy New Year and may 2025 be a peaceful and great year for everyone.

To commemorate KLEF2024 as a successful inaugural cleft conference for Malaysia, we developed a photo booklet. Hard copies were presented to speakers, moderators and the secretariat. Attached is the link to view the booklet.

It’s This Weekend
KLEF2024 is fast approaching. The committee is working towards making this inaugural event a memorable one.

Attached for early info is what we have designed. Bear in mind though, as we go some tweaks, there can be some late changes .

It's just about two weeks away

As we progress along on KLEF2024, we now have just over 400 participants (delegates and speakers) signed up. With 76 topics to be presented, some 60+ poster to be displayed we are looking forward to KLEF2024.
As part of our preparation, we had a discussion with KKM-PKP to provide an update and seek feedback. KKM visit included an insight into how a Combined Cleft Clinic is managed. We thank KKM for their continued support and realisation of KLEF2024.
We hope to provide more updates, more frequently as we inch closer to KLEF2024.

Early Bird Registration
Registration for early bird was originally announced as ending Sept 11, 2024. However, following requests, the committee agreed to extend it to 25 Sept 2024. While such an extension creates certain strains on the organisers, the benefits of having as many participants attend outweigh other concerns.

Early Bird Closing Soon – Sept 11

We are now in the month of Sept. That means we are just a month away for KLEF2024. That also mean the “Early Bird” registration will close shortly . . . Sept 11. Please do sign up to enjoy the early bird fee. Standard fee will apply from Spet 12 onwards.

Meanwhile we have made site visits to SCCC and working towards making KLEF2024 a comfortable, enjoyable and enriching experience.

Wishing everyone a Happy Merdeka Day

What does Merdeka means in the context of cleft? Amongst others, it means dignifying clefts, upholding truth and doing away with myths of clefts, old school approaches. It also embraces unity amongst care givers and cleft borns. In Malaysia, we have our own “Cleft Awareness Month”, usage of the Bahasa Melayu terminology “klef” and “purple “ as the symbolic colour of cleft.

May we embrace “Unity in Cleft Care”

Today , on the 1st day of MIDEC2024, the video introducing KLEF2024 was screened. It is a great and most appreciated support for KLEF2024.

Introducing Setia City Convention Center

KLEF2024 will be held at Setia City Convention Center (SCCC). It is located close to NIH (National Institute of Health) with easy access through NKVE- Persiaran Setia Alam.

KLEF2024 will be held at Ballroom 1, Ballroom 2 and Function Room 1. Trade exhibition will be held at the Ground Floor Foyer. There is ample parking, all at ground level. The address is as follows:

No. 1, Jalan Setia Dagang AG U13/AG,
Setia Alam Seksyen U13, 40170 Shah Alam,
Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia.

SCCC was chosen for the convenience, sense of space and conducive environement ot provides.
