Interaction Science Day Programme

I had a wonderful opportunity to engage myself with the students of SK Bangsar through our Social Engagement program. So I would like to thank our respected professor Dr. Norazilawati and my associate group members without whose hardwork organizing this whole program would be quite impossible. We tried our best to make the students happy and entertain them through jumba and games while teaching them some of the basic scientific facts during this 3 days program. We had huge response from the children which made us feel that the event was successful. Besides spending time with them gave us the opportunity to go back to our childhood for a while. I believe this experience will help me in future to participate in social services and work in a team.

First and foremost,I would like to thank Dr Norazilawati who is willing to guide us to do this programme despite her busy schedule.I would like to thank and congratulate my fellow committee who had done thier best to make this program succesful.I am really grateful to be one of the member of this group (Group 2 ,Social Engagement, Department of Chemistry) and I really enjoy to make this programme throughout this semester.I feel glad that I get to know and cooperate with others who had contributed a lot of fresh and amazing ideas.I admit that this is a hard task to do but with the helps of other members,the burden had been lightened.I also get to improve my communication skills beside getting to know on how to organize an event.
I think this is a good initiative that all university student should grab al least once.It will help us to know how important for us to educate younger generation in order to produce succesful youth who are not only succeed in academics studies but also excel in self volunteering or soft skills.Thanks to the teachers and students of SK Bangsar for welcoming us to held this programme.They are so supportive and energetic throughout our programme.I had gained many good experiences that will improve my skills and perspectives towards a person especially as a students.

Science Interaction Day..It is a day to be remembered.Honestly,I had so much fun when entertaining the kids and entertained by them.I teach them and learn from them in the same time.

Thank you to all my friend.Together we succeed in organizing this 'Science Interaction Day'.Who thought with this small force can organize this 3 day event.I don't feel like I contribute so much.

Thank you too to all of the students which participate for this event.Even when doing this reflection,i still miss them and hope to do activities with them again.

Actually before this, I already involved in many programme with primary and secondary student.Still,this Science Interaction Day is one of the best.

What i get from Interaction Science Day is of course experience.Experience is something that we can't buy.Besides,this programme help me to improve my softskill.Lastly,I feel like at home when with them.

First of all, I would to thanks to my group members because give me the opportunity to be the leader in this group and also to be the President of the Interaction Science Day at Sekolah Bangsar which had been held on 14, 27 and 28 April 2018. Being the leader was so hard for me at first but it turns to be so exciting and many changes happen in my life because it improves my leadership skills and also make new friends with other races as well. This programme is being conducted for our university course which is Social Engagement GIG1005. This course needs us to handle a project with the community so we decided to do it with the primary student from Sk Bangsar. in order to make it happens, we always seek help from our advisor who is our Chemistry Lecture Dr. Noralizawati. I would like to say thank you so much to Dr for her advice that helps us to make sure this programme running smoothly. Also, I would like to say thank you to Guru Besar SK Bangsar En, Soeharto that gives us chance to do this programme at SK Bangsar

Next, thanks to our high committee Pek Fung, Faerra and Jin Hui that helps me a lot to prepare the proposal, budget and always reminds me of what to do for this programme. To our unit programme Atikah, Amelia, Dani and Sieng Chai thank you guys for coming out with all ideas for the activities, and for our Majlis Penutup also. Amir, Daniel and Tahsin our sponsorship's unit thanks because try to find sponsor and food for the kids. Asyraf, Hisham and Nas from unit logistic who always help programme to prepare stuff for the activities. Anas and Zikri (unit kebajikan dan keselamatan) thanks a lot to help others and being facilitators, luckily there is no accident happen during the day. Last but not least to our Multimedia Team, Yuen Sing and Emeline thank you so much for the pictures and the video.

This programme is definitely one of the best programme I ever had this year. Being able to escape from all of the assignments, classes and tutorials in college for awhile and interact with these kids was fun!

I would like to say thank you, especially for my group members, for putting trust in me, to be one of the AJK Program & Pendaftaran. Of course, it wasn't easy. But after the programme, the feedback we received from the students of SK Bangsar was unreal, it was worth the time and effort we put in.

Also big thanks to headmaster and teachers of SK Bangsar, because without their cooperation, we wont get to meet and interact with the students there. Huge gratitude to our coodinator, Dr. Nora who has guide us throughout this project. And thank you, students of SK Bangsar, you guys are awesome!

First of all, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to our Social Engagement Coordinator, Dr. Norazilawati for guiding us in handling this programme. Much thanks to the teachers of Sk Bangsar for the opportunity given to us to do this exciting project with their students. And for dear all group members, I would like to give big thanks to them for their great commitment and good teamwork in this project.

I never thought that this programme will become this exciting. The three days of programme was very memorable for me. From this program, my friends and I learnt on how to organize a project and how to interact with students in more fun and effective ways. I love to see the students enjoyed the activities we did. They were so active, energetic and they really interested in Science. From the activities, I had opportunity to get to know the students better, and I found out that they have passion in Science field as some of them wanted to be a scientist, astronaut, science teacher and so on.

I feel great to share some experience to the students and I hope it will inspire them to study hard and smart to become successful in future. I can say that, our programme give a big impact to the students. At the end of the programme, I could see we had successfully develop the interest in Science in them.

I was touched when I saw they admired us very much. And I could say,they loved us as their own brothers and sisters. I remembered one of the student said to me,"Please promise that you'll never forget us,because we'll not be able to meet you anymore after this." and I was speechless and wanted to cry hearing that :'( This programme actually had achieved more than the objectives. We were not only had developed interest in Science, but more than that. We had created strong heart to heart bonds with the students,our little brothers and sisters. That was the most important thing.

I am glad to be a part of members of this group. It was a wonderful experience for me to interact with the students of SK Bangsar for 3 days. It was truly an unforgettable memory for me to interact with them.

Interacting with the students made me realise it is not easy to educate young people as they are active and curious about the world around them. I hope that the students of SK Bangsar get something from us during this 3 days.

Lastly, I want to thank all the group members and Dr Nora for making this projects a success.

Never thought that social engagement project will be this fun.

After hours of meetings and preparation, the three day programme went out successfully. Watching the kids smile and having fun while spending times with us is really touching, especially when we are conducting the science experiments.
Makes me believe that they really enjoy the interaction with us via this programme.
Using our knowledge to teach them more about science is really satisfying.

As a university student, are we too busy to engage with the community around us? Or we are just too lazy to do that.
Having a chance to interact with the community as needed in the Social Engagement course really makes me think again. Are we contributing? Is what we doing now enough to contribute?
Contributing a little extra than the ordinary can make you extraordinary.

Much thanks to our lecturers for supporting and giving guidance to us in this project, SK Bangsar for allowing us to make this project successful and last but not least, the project members ❤️

📢📢📢Before this programme started, other ajk program dan pendaftaran and me planned different activities or do a lot of preparation to ensure this programme can be done smoothly.💝💝💝

📲📲📲The activities like introduction, experiment, master of station game and zumba which I incharge give a lot of motivation and experience in my life.💝💝💝

🎉🎉🎉 I appreciate social engagement and SK bangsar which give a platform to students from University of MALAYA.💝💝💝

🌍🌎🌏 Although we had ended the social engagement, I will never forget the students from SK Bangsar and remember this precious memory forever and ever.💝💝💝
