Finding your way again, be it to hope again, to start that new project after being through our own set experiences may be hard, but with purpose & moving purposefully, slowly but surely, you will find that the only way forward is taking that first step

Today's session was about Observing, Reframing & Impacting

And the participants did just that

We believe everything in life requires evaluation. As one of our members said : Evaluation is like a mirror.

You are constantly evaluating yourself, others to not just improve your speaking, but to also, make better life decisions on what you truly desire for yourself in life. Thus why this workshop was also open for guests. Evaluation applies in daily life.

As in speech evaluation, some speakers tend to hold back what they actually desire or want to say due to fears of past experiences. As an evaluator, we give them hope & coach them, as Ms Ori put it. Reassuring them that it is a safe space for them to say what they desire, learn, grow & open up. As for the evaluator, it matters to them that the speaker opens up.

It was an exciting session as Ms Ori took us through her personalized tips & tricks of evaluating, with the speakers doing their absolute best, followed by the evaluators evaluating pristinely!

We thank our Toastmaster of the Day (Toastmaster Siok Looi) Timer (Toastmaster Alison ) & of course our President (Toastmaster Penny) & Table Topics Master for making this workshop possible 😄

✨️Club Officer Training 1 (Division J) ✨️ on the 26th of July, saw the attendance of 6 out of 8 of Speecom's club officers!

Two out of them - Ms Ori & Mr Jason were both facilitators for Secretaries & Presidents' Breakout Room Sessions' respectively, something we all are immensely proud of!

In Toastmasters without a doubt, being part of a club that truly supports you front, right & centre, always brings out the best in us! And we are soo happy, for how amazingly they led their respective sessions!

Our club VPPR got to meet Mas Mahathir for the very first time too & according to her : this training beats any kind of training she has ever attended in her 6 year expertise. The value over goals driven attitude is something that truly inspires her, that also apparently, made her choose Speecom over the array of clubs around District 51!

We are soo excited to see what this term brings!

✨️Recap on last meeting✨️

The meeting was kickstarted with momentum as our Toastmaster of the Evening took the reigns & lead us through each section of the meeting, preceeded by the New Members Induction : with present 2 out of 5 new members!

It was an evening filled with Mandarin Toastmasters absolutely blowing it out of the park with their showstopping table topics speeches, and finally ending with a bomb of an evaluation session by our General Evaluator, Distinguished Toastmaster Robert Ram from District 102!

Thank you to everyone who attended Speecom's meeting on the 7th of July!!!

It was a night filled with laughter, memories & new synergy! We started off this new term with an uplifting enriching mode & we are looking forward to what the future holds!

A humoungous kuddos to our two Speecomers who gave their first speeches tonight!!!

And a HUGE congratulations to all award winners that night!
Seeing the growth in the members reminds us of why Speecom exists : the originality, the space to feel safe & most of us heard & to be understood.

This creates a synergy way beyond profound than any community could & we are trusting in the fact whoever who is meant to join us will.join us!

True synergy happens when the combined power of a team becomes greater than the sum of its individual parts. In our club, we see this in the synergy between the past & present exco team being the driving force for our club to carry on it's 45th YEAR! - This term!

We kickstarted our meeting off with an iconic session by Distinguished Toastmaster Mak K*m Shi & him sharing his passion & inspiring others, culminating in our Table Topics Session & Project Speeches!

A warm congratulations to our VALIENT members for taking up & playing the roles of Table Topics Master & Toastmaster of the Day for the very first time!

We saw the unleashing of the inner hero in every speaker! And we cannot wait for the next meeting, where we all shall continue to grow stronger together, with synergy!
