Chandraghanta Maa is worshipped on the third day of Navratri. The goddess mounts the tigress and is depicted with ten hands. She also carries a lotus flower, arrow, dhanush, and japa mala (prayer beads) in her four right hands and keeps the fifth right hand in Abhaya Mudra. She carries trishul, gada, sword, and a kamandal in her four left hands and keeps the fifth left hand in Varada Mudra.

The ubayakarars are the family of the late Mr. A. Kanagaratnam, Mr A. Poobalan & family and Mr A. Sivakumar & family. Performance by TAPAS Malaysia and Laasya Arts Academy.

Shailaputri is the first form amongst Navadurga who is worshipped on the first day of Navratri. Also known as Sati, Bhavani, Parvati or Hemavati, Goddess Shailaputri is considered the absolute form of Mother Nature. In some cultures, she is also known as Goddess Parvati, wife of Lord Shiva, the mother of Ganesha and Kartikeya. The Goddess is depicted having a half moon on her forehead, holding a trident in her right hand and a lotus in her left while riding Nandi, the bull.

The Ubayakarar for Day 1 Navarathiri is Dato Ir K. Thanarajah & family. Dance and Music performances are by students of Temple of Fine Arts.

All are welcome to join in the celebration.
