Shaping the Future of Education: Philanthropy, Innovation, and Collaboration!

Today marked a powerful milestone in strengthening Indonesia's educational ecosystem. 100+ Change-makers, philanthropists, and visionaries gathered at the Auditorium of Wisma Barito Pacific II in Jakarta for an incredibly inspiring and forward-looking forum.

The event kicked off with warm opening remarks from Ibu Dian A. Purbasari, Vice Chair of the PFI Executive Board & Director of Bakti Barito and Mr. Md Ghani Ibrahim, the Head of PR & Partnerships of NAMA Foundation. The core mission of the day was clear: breaking down barriers to education through innovative, inclusive, and sustainable financing models.

A deep dive in innovative Education Financing Solutions like qard hasan, blended finance and multi-stakeholder approaches. Panelists discussed maintaining transparency, expanding access, and boosting financial literacy to empower communities and prepare human resources for Indonesia Emas 2045.

2026 Education Philanthropy Cluster Workplan was presented and discussed on how collaborative networks and multi-party funding structures can scale high-quality education across the nation.

An eye-opening panel featuring global and local experts exploring Impact Investment in modern philanthropy, the importance of long-term systemic grants, and strategies to ensure inclusive education reaches vulnerable and remote communities.

The summit concluded with an impactful closing address by Pak Md Ghani Ibrahim Head of Partnerships & PR, NAMA Foundation and an energetic networking session aimed at turning these ideas into real-world action.

A huge thank you to the host PFI, organisers EAI Foundation, the Education Cluster, key partners such as Dompet Dhuafa, BIRU, INSPIRASI, INOVASI, UID, all the speakers, and attendees who brought their passion and insights to the table today.

Together, we are building a brighter, more equitable future for education!

We were honoured to receive a visit from DCAP, led by Sonia Ng (Founder & Chief Executive Officer), Azizul Hussin (Product Manager & Analyst), and Amanda Chen (Head of Growth, Strategy & Partnership).

The engagement focused on strengthening collaboration in the social enterprise space, with meaningful discussions on developing micro social enterprise models, particularly in partnership with universities. Key areas explored included sustainable structures for addressing bad debt, improving risk management frameworks, and designing fairer pricing approaches that balance impact and financial sustainability.

This visit marks an important step forward in building stronger ecosystems for social innovation, shared value creation, and long-term community empowerment.

From Support to Self-Sufficiency: NAMA Foundation x Sabat Foundation Coworking Center, Osh

Our 12 May engagements in Osh concluded with a visit that perfectly encapsulates what NAMA's blended social finance model looks like in practice - the newly established Sabat Foundation Coworking Center.

Sabat Foundation is a longstanding NAMA CSO beneficiary and active participant across multiple NAMA programs - Sustain, FinPro, CSOLead, and BSF - and their growth journey is a testament to the power of sustained, multi-layered support. Through a NAMA-supported social loan under the BSF 2025 program, Sabat Foundation has done something remarkable: turned that support into a fully operational coworking center, creating a tangible, community-serving asset that will continue to generate impact long into the future.

This is exactly what institutional strengthening looks like - not dependency, but capability. Not a one-time intervention, but a lasting foundation for growth.
Well done, Sabat Foundation. Your coworking center is more than a space - it is proof of what is possible.

Opening Doors Through Academia: NAMA Foundation x Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University, Osh

Also on 12 May, our Osh engagements brought us to the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University (KUIU).

Discussions covered a wide range of collaborative opportunities — from scholarship programs and interest-free financial support for students and young researchers, to guest lectures and academic exchange initiatives. Both parties also agreed to move forward on signing a Memorandum of Understanding soon , a significant step in formalising this growing partnership.

We are excited about what this collaboration holds — for students, for researchers, and for the future of education across our two communities.

Rooting Impact in Local Strength: NAMA Foundation x Agrocredit, Osh

Rounding off a packed 12 May in Osh, the team convened at the TES Center office for a highly strategic meeting with Agrocredit — a valued beneficiary CSO of NAMA's 2026 programs and a key partner in the EAI EduQard Hassan Program in Kyrgyzstan.

The discussion was as purposeful as it was timely. At the heart of our conversation: partnership alignment, financial inclusion mechanisms, and how we can collectively scale NAMA's impact through meaningful, ground-level institutional collaboration.

Agrocredit's deep roots within the local community make them an invaluable partner in ensuring that NAMA's programs don't just reach communities — but truly resonate within them. Through this partnership, we are building pathways that connect education, financial inclusion, and sustainable development into one cohesive vision.

Together, we are not just scaling programs — we are scaling purpose.

Building Tomorrow's Ecosystem Today: NAMA Foundation x NICE International School, Osh

Our 12 May engagements in Osh continued with a visit to NICE International School — a forward-looking institution and a testament to what the next chapter of NAMA's education journey looks like.

As a strategic education initiative under NICE, the school formally began its journey in the 2025–2026 academic year — and already, the impact is taking shape. NAMA-supported programs, including the School Index and the Parents School model, have been successfully implemented, offering an early and encouraging proof of concept for what scalable, sustainable education transformation can look like in practice.

What makes this visit particularly exciting is what it represents beyond a single school. NICE International School is not just a beneficiary — it is a living demonstration of NAMA's education ecosystem approach, showing that our models can take root, grow, and thrive in new environments.

This is what scalability looks like. This is what sustainability feels like. And we are only just getting started.

From Investment to Impact: NAMA Foundation x School #35, Osh

On 12 May, our journey continued as the team travelled from Bishkek Manas Airport to Osh City — and our first stop could not have been more meaningful.

School #35 is a proud NAMA-supported beneficiary school from 2019 to 2023, and this visit was a chance to witness the tangible fruits of years of dedicated partnership. Through a rich portfolio of NAMA-funded initiatives — EduLead, ROOTS, Bright Program, and Parents School — the school built stronger leadership at every level, elevated teaching quality in the classroom, and deepened the engagement of parents as active partners in their children's education.

But the transformation didn't stop there. The School Improvement Project brought a meaningful upgrade to the campus itself, equipping students and teachers with laptops, computers, and interactive boards — bridging the digital divide and opening new doors for how learning is experienced every day.

Walking through the halls of School #35, one thing is clear: when the right support meets the right community, the results speak for themselves.

To the entire School #35 family — thank you for showing us what dedication and partnership can build
