A Tribute to Charlie Ng Weng Choong: A True Son of MBSKL
It is with heavy hearts that the MBSKL Alumni Association bids farewell to one of our most dedicated and steadfast brothers, Charlie Ng Weng Choong. Charlie was the personification of the MBSKL spirit—a man whose quiet, "indomitable" presence served as the backbone of our alumni community for over three decades.
Within the MBSOBA (now the MBSKL Alumni Association), Charlie was more than just a member; he was a bridge between generations. His mark could be found on nearly every major milestone, from the meticulous coordination of our annual dinners to the camaraderie of our alumni golf "fellowship" tournaments. He possessed the rare gift of working in the background, providing the technical expertise and logistics needed to ensure our gatherings were seamless, never once seeking the limelight for his immense contributions.
Charlie’s legacy is perhaps best felt in his role as a mentor. He was a constant fixture at our meetings, often seen sharing stories of our school’s rich history with younger alumni, ensuring that the traditions of MBSKL were not just remembered, but lived. Whether it was at the committee table or during casual gatherings at our regular haunts, Charlie was often the glue that held the "Old Boys" together.
To the MBSKL Alumni Association, Charlie was a "proud son" whose service was defined by humility and an unwavering loyalty to his alma mater. While he has taken his final flight, the echoes of his contributions remain an inseparable part of our heritage.
Rest in Peace, Charlie. Your legacy lives on in every life you touched.
