Rimba

Rimba Former non-profit conservation research group, ceased operations after 2022 due to funding shortfalls

Rimba, which means ‘jungle’ in Malay, is a non-profit research group focused on conducting conservation science. We were established to help provide evidence-based solutions to conservation problems, and to function as a bridge linking conservation science and conservation practice. We use the results of our studies to engage constructively with policymakers and natural resource managers to help i

mprove the protection and management of Peninsular Malaysia’s biodiversity. We were first established in November 2010 as a non-profit research enterprise (002085549-T). As of 30 December 2016, we officially became an NGO under the Registry of Societies Malaysia (ROS: PPM-017-14-30122016). Due to financial limitations we are currently in a transitional period in preparation to close down at the end of 2022.
