The Malaysian Association of Sports Medicine (MASM) extends its heartfelt congratulations to our President, Dr. Ahmad Munawwar Helmi, on his election as an Executive Committee Member of the Asian Federation of Sports Medicine (AFSM) for the 2026–2030 term.

As the sole Malaysian representative elected to the AFSM Executive Committee, his appointment is a proud milestone for Sports Medicine Malaysia and reflects the growing recognition of Malaysian expertise on the regional stage.

MASM was also proudly represented at the 19th AFSM Congress 2026 in Hua Hin, Thailand, by our Vice President, Dr. Nurul Hasyim Saparai, who presented two scientific posters, and our EXCO Member, Dr. Ahmad Hazwan Shushaimi.

Together, these achievements highlight Malaysia's growing presence and leadership in the Asian sports medicine community. MASM remains committed to strengthening regional collaboration, advancing knowledge, and promoting excellence in sports and exercise medicine.

A proud moment for Malaysia. πŸ‡²πŸ‡Ύ

MASM Press Statement
For Immediate release

MASM is deeply saddened by the recent passing of several athletes and extends its heartfelt condolences to their families, friends, teammates, and the wider sporting community.

These tragic losses remind us that prevention matters. Pre-Participation Evaluation (PPE) isn't about discouraging participation in sports. It's about helping athletes participate safely by identifying potential health risks early. Together with Emergency Action Plans (EAP), CPR-trained personnel, and readily available AEDs, these measures can save lives.

Let's honour those we've lost by building a safer sporting environment for every athlete. ❀️
