EMPTA at intellectual property protection discussion

EMPTA attended the Intellectual Property Protection Special Task Force (PPKPHI) meeting hosted by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) today, reaffirming the association's commitment to supporting efforts to safeguard intellectual property rights and promote fair trade practices.

The meeting brought together government agencies, industry associations, and relevant stakeholders to discuss issues related to intellectual property protection, enforcement initiatives, and measures to combat the distribution of counterfeit and infringing products in the marketplace.

EMPTA appreciates KPDN for organising this important engagement and looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the Ministry and other stakeholders in advancing intellectual property protection and supporting the healthy development of Malaysia's automotive industry.

🏸 EMPTA Badminton Tournament 2026 concluded successfully! 🏸

EMPTA successfully organized its 2026 Badminton Tournament on 1–2 August, bringing together members, their families, and badminton enthusiasts for two exciting days of competition, networking, and sportsmanship.

The tournament showcased not only the participants' skills and competitive spirit but also the strong friendship and unity that define the EMPTA community. Throughout the weekend, players displayed determination, teamwork, and respect on the court, making the event a memorable success.

EMPTA extends its heartfelt appreciation to the organizing team members, sponsors, volunteers, officials, and all participants for their dedication and support in making this event possible.

EMPTA brings PERKESO's Lindung24 briefing directly to members

With the July payroll cycle approaching, EMPTA took the initiative to organize a Lindung 24 engagement session to help members better understand the scheme, its requirements, and implementation.

EMPTA sincerely thanks Mr Edmund Cheong, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PERKESO, for his strong support in arranging this briefing at very short notice. His prompt response reflects PERKESO’s commitment to ensuring employers and employees are well-informed about the initiative.

EMPTA attends Melaka Motor Trade Association's anniversary dinner

EMPTA committee members attended the 53rd Anniversary Dinner of the Melaka Motor Trade Association yesterday, joining fellow industry leaders and association representatives in celebrating this significant milestone.

The occasion commemorated more than five decades of the association's dedication and contribution to the development of the automotive trade in Melaka. It also provided a valuable opportunity for networking, strengthening friendships, and exchanging views on the latest developments and challenges facing the automotive industry.

EMPTA values the strong bonds among automotive industry associations across Malaysia and looks forward to continued collaboration in advancing the interests of the automotive parts and complements aftermarket.

A meaningful step forward for advocacy!

EMPTA is proud to see this issue gain traction at the national level.
Yesterday, YB Senator Tan Sri Dato’ Low Kian Chuan raised the ‘Right to Repair’ issue in Parliament, and the Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living YB Senator Datuk Dr. Fuziah Binti Salleh responded with a verbal reply.

This is another important milestone in EMPTA’s ongoing efforts towards a fairer, more sustainable automotive aftermarket industry in Malaysia.

EMPTA continues to bridge industry and government for a stronger automotive aftermarket

EMPTA was honoured to welcome Tuan Peter Berinus Agang, Director of Intellectual Property Section, Enforcement Division, Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), together with his officers, and Ts. Hasnol Zakaria, SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd's Head of Industrial & Consumer Certification Section 2, together with his team, to EMPTA for an important industry engagement session on the latest developments regarding the implementation and enforcement of the Trade Descriptions (Certification and Marking of Engine Oil for Motor Vehicle) Order 2024.

During the session, EMPTA members had the valuable opportunity to engage directly with KPDN and SIRIM representatives, seek clarification, and share practical challenges faced by businesses. Key topics discussed included supply chain responsibilities, e-commerce trading activities, existing stock management, complaint handling, and enforcement actions against non-compliance.
