In conjunction with International Women's Day (IWD)- Lets Accelerate Actions!, we are highlighting a few of our female Olympians to celebrate their lives and honour the efforts they have put forward. As IWD is celebrated on March 8 every year, we believe it is timely to highlight one sport each year.
The Malaysia Olympians Association (MOA) is celebrating our Olympians from sailing sport
Nur Shazrin Mohamad Latif ILCA 6
She is a THREE-TIME Olympian (Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, and Paris 2024).
She also made history as the first Malaysian female sailor to ever qualify for the Olympics (Rio 2016).
Nur Aisyah Jamil & Juni Karimah Noor Jamali (International 470)
This duo made history as the first-ever Malaysian pair to qualify for the Women's International 470 event at the Olympics (Tokyo 2020).

" We would love the sport to have more women involved, not only as athletes but also as coaches and leaders in the sport. We also would like sailing to become more accessible and supported for women, with more training opportunities and competitions. This will help inspire the younger generation of girls to be confident and brave to try sailing"β΅
