Thank you to CMASEDIF for providing the waste summary report from our recent 20th Anniversary Celebration!

The data shows that paper cups and paper plates were the most commonly used items, while plastic bottles and other waste categories recorded the lowest usage. These findings provide valuable insights into our consumption patterns and highlight opportunities for improvement.

As we move forward, we are committed to reducing waste generation and strengthening sustainable practices in our future events. By making conscious choices, minimizing single-use items, and encouraging responsible consumption, we can collectively contribute to a cleaner environment and a more sustainable tourism industry.

Every small action counts. Together, let's create events that leave lasting memories—not lasting waste. 🗑️♻️🌱

Nature is our strongest ally, and protecting it is essential for our shared future. 🌍🌿

Biodiversity is declining at an unprecedented rate, with ecosystems facing growing pressures from climate change, pollution, overexploitation, invasive species and urbanisation. Yet these living systems sustain all life on Earth.

Across its sites, and , UNESCO works with communities, scientists, Indigenous Peoples and partners to protect biodiversity, restore ecosystems and strengthen the resilience of both nature and people.

This is a call to act: to rethink our relationship with nature and help restore balance for a more sustainable world.

The conclusion of the MWTGA 20th Anniversary marks not just an end, but a new chapter for professional tourist guides in Malaysia. 🇲🇾

Day 3 focused on professional excellence and industry sustainability. Through our Continuous Tourism Related Education (CTRE) modules, we reaffirmed our commitment to lifelong learning.

Simultaneously, we embraced digital innovation by collaborating with influencer 苗苗 林静苗 miau miau to bridge the gap between our exhibitors and the digital-native consumer, creating a vibrant engagement experience for both online and physical attendees.

We were privileged to have En. Mohd Farids bin Saime, Assistant Director of MOTAC KL, joins us for the closing ceremony, underscoring the strong partnership between the association and the Ministry.

Following the public ceremony, our members convened for our Annual General Meeting (AGM) to deliberate on strategic directions for the coming year.

Reflecting on these three days, it is clear that MWTGA remains at the forefront of driving standards and innovation in Malaysia’s tourism sector.

Investment in human capital is the key to longevity in the tourism industry.

On Day 2 of the MWTGA 20th Anniversary, we shifted our focus from industry insights to practical capacity building. Our invited speakers led a hands-on workshop to help participants develop critical thinking and strategic communication.

The session culminated in a pitching segment, where they demonstrated how to implement sustainability in their destination or products with clarity and impact.

At MWTGA, we believe that staying competitive means constantly evolving our skill sets. A huge thank you to our speakers for challenging us to think deeper and aim higher.
