Today, the candle light float procession will begin from Buddhist Maha Vihara, Brickfields at 6.00 pm.

The Guest of Honor will be YB En. Anthony Loke, the Minister of Transport, Malaysia.

The Joint Wesak Celebration Committee was formed in 1956 with the sole purpose of organising Wesak Day Celebrations in Kuala Lumpur. Initially set up with the Sasana Abhiwurdhi Wardhana Society, the Selangor Buddhist Association and the Siri Jayanti Buddhist Association, Sentul, Kuala Lumpur as the first 3 founder affiliates with Mr. Ng Ban Onn as the Chairman.

Today the membership stands at 61 affiliates comprising of temples and associations situated in the Klang Valley with Mr. Ng Hong Pau as the Chairman. The Hon. Secretary's post is held by Mr. A Hemadasa and the Hon. Treasurer's post is held by Mr. George Chan Jaw Wing.
