4 months, 3 locations, 1,000 screenings, and RM88,000 raised. And 88 years of Kluang RailCoffee!

What better way to celebrate 88 years than by giving back?

A huge thank you to Kluang RailCoffee for coming on board with NCSM and turning coffee runs and cravings for the famous laksa johor into opportunities to raise awareness, encourage health screening and raise RM88,000 for cancer support.

Here’s to 88 years of amazing laksa johor, good company and now, good causes too.

Happy 88th Birthday, Kluang RailCoffee! Here’s to many more years of brewing goodness and making a difference. ❤️

Thank you for being part of the NCSM family and for showing us that when businesses and communities come together, every cup can make a difference.

Caregiving can be a lonely journey, but no caregiver should have to walk it alone 💛

Our first Caregivers Support Group Meet-up was held which provided a safe space for caregivers to connect and share their personal experiences, professional insights and ideas for strengthening the group.

A heartfelt thank you to Jonathan and Bray Bakery for supporting our meet-up with complimentary plates of sourdough toast and spreads for everyone to share 🍞

From this first meet-up, we hope to organise more meaningful activities and build a supportive platform where caregivers can openly share their thoughts, experiences and challenges while supporting one another. We warmly welcome more caregivers to join our community!🎗️

Strength is not always about having all the answers—it is also about choosing how to move forward 💛

In 2022, at the age of 61, Abdul Razak Bin Abdul Aziz was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer that had spread to five areas of his bones.

Rather than asking himself, “Why me?”, Abdul Razak chose to focus on how he could face the situation and continue moving forward.

Throughout his journey, he learned how important it is to have the right support from family and friends. However, connecting with someone who has gone through a similar experience can provide a different kind of comfort—the reassurance of being understood by someone who has walked the same path.

Now 65, Abdul Razak shares his experience to remind others that they do not have to go through cancer alone.

What Is Oncoplastic Surgery? 🎗️

In this reel, Dr Harjit Kaur, Consultant Oncoplastic Breast & Endocrine Surgeon at Hospital Picaso, explains what oncoplastic breast surgery means and how it combines cancer surgery with reconstructive surgery.

Key points everyone should know:
▪️ Oncoplastic breast surgery combines cancer surgery and reconstructive surgery
▪️ Traditionally, the priority of cancer surgery was to remove the cancer with clear margins
▪️ Breast-conserving surgeries such as lumpectomies can sometimes result in breast disfigurement, including changes that may become more noticeable following radiation therapy and scarring
▪️ Oncoplastic surgery considers both cancer care and the overall appearance of the breast
▪️ The aim is to achieve a good cancer outcome while also considering the patient’s overall breast cosmetic outcome
▪️ A good cosmetic outcome can help patients move forward with greater confidence after cancer surgery

Understanding what oncoplastic surgery involves can help patients better understand how cancer treatment and reconstructive considerations can be addressed together.
