With the breathtaking views, it is little wonder that the Sijangkang Mangrove Recreational Park has been captivating nature adventure aficionados, birdwatchers, private companies and learning institutions since it was opened to the public at end-2015.

Nepenthes Rajah is found only in Sabah and nowhere else.

The Nepenthes, known as the tropical pitcher plant or monkey cup, is a carnivorous plant with a unique trapping mechanism. Among its species, Nepenthes rajah is the world's largest by volume. These enormous pitchers can hold up to a remarkable 3.5 litres of water, surpassing the capacity of two large water bottles. Impressively, they are known to capture and consume animals as large as frogs, birds, and even rats, showcasing the remarkable adaptations of this captivating plant.
