ESG-MIA Integration TMC belongs to Toastmasters International, a platform for public speaking It is the “how”! How do we provide and how do we empower?

Club Mission of Toastmasters
We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth. Per the club mission, Passion Advanced TMC
- provides a supportive and positive learning experience
- empowers members to develop communication & leadership skills
- the result shown in improvement is obvious, why? In Passion Advanced TMC, we first emphasize in “bonding” via support and care like a family:
- we provide a stress-free community – members are not pressured to do speeches, nor taking up roles, nor being blamed for last minute pull-out.
- we empower members through one-to-one mentoring and coaching in anything and everything when they need help.
- we ensure improvement by giving one-to-one debriefing or second feedback.
- we make sure your time is well-spent on the meeting, and you are refreshed and happy after attending the meeting – because, on top of public speaking and leadership, we always have fun by playing games, we learn English and gain health knowledge, and we watch what world champion speakers do and how they perform. In Passion Advanced TMC, we have the sense of community belonging, every meeting is like a family gathering; besides, we will build a better self for career success and for more fulfilling life. ESG-MIA 30th Meeting Summary

🎯 Theme: Leadership

For our milestone 30th meeting, we were honoured to welcome Patricia Yap, DTM (Immediate Past Club Growth Director, District 51) as our General Evaluator, and we were delighted to have Belinda Chew as our guest.

The evening's discussions centred on leadership — and the key takeaway: leadership is subjective. Whether a particular leadership style works depends on the individual; what inspires one person may not resonate with another.

Theme: Turning Over a New Leaf

Our 29th meeting carried forward the same high energy and rich learning spirit as always. We were thrilled to have Caleb Yap from Money Mastery KL Toastmasters Club join us and present his humorous speech. His sense of humor was on point, and the room was filled with laughter—everyone thoroughly enjoyed it!

A special shoutout to Angeline Ang, our Toastmaster of the Day, for maintaining the high energy and ensuring seamless transitions throughout the meeting flow. You kept everything on track beautifully!

ESG-MIA 28th Meeting Summary
Date: 10 September 2026
Theme: Value of the Moment

Our 28th meeting began with a burst of energy as our President Yong Sheng kicked things off with the theme Value of the Moment. He reminded us that life is short—we should seize every moment we have, for those moments will become our memories.

We were delighted to welcome Phoebe Fung, Area C1 Director, who visited our club and delivered an evaluator speech for our member, Hsien Yang.

A special shoutout to our General Evaluator, Bernard Yong, PM5, MS3, for taking the time to visit our club and provide us with constructive feedback to help us do better. Your insights were truly invaluable!

🧠 High Achiever Grooming (HAG) Session
This session explored Jeff Bezos's personal approach to leadership—specifically, his practice of remaining open to hearing everyone's opinions in the room before sharing his own thoughts.

Elysia reminded us to apply the "zoom out" practice: think about why Jeff Bezos says what he says, and whether his context can be adapted to our own scenarios—rather than simply focusing on what he does.

Theme: Honouring the Past, Empowering the Future

Our 27th meeting opened with a powerful theme that reminded us of the importance of reflection and growth. Our President set the tone by sharing how our past shapes who we are today—and how we can carry those lessons forward to become better individuals.

We were honoured to welcome Phoebe Fung, Area C1 Director, who delivered an inspiring speech on the importance of choosing empathy over judgement—a timely and thought-provoking message for all of us.

🧠 High Achiever Grooming (HAG) Session
This session focused on a talk by Simon Sinek about middle management. Elysia offered a valuable takeaway: the importance of zooming out and researching not just what someone says, but who they are and where they come from. This reflective practice, she noted, will serve us well as we advance in our careers and take on greater leadership responsibilities.

🎯 First-timers turned sharp-shooters — Most of us had never held a bow before, but by the end, we were hitting bullseyes like pros!

😂 Lots of laughs & friendly competition — From arrows flying wild to unexpected perfect shots, every round brought cheers and playful banter.

🤝 Teamwork in action — We guided, encouraged, and celebrated each other's wins. No one left without a high-five.

🔄 Plot twist turned win — The last-minute switch from bowling to archery made the day even more memorable and exciting.

📸 Instagram-worthy moments — Epic action shots, victory poses, and group photos that captured all the joy.

🥳 Everyone participated, everyone enjoyed — No matter the skill level, every single member had a blast and left with a smile.

🧠 High Achiever Grooming (HAG) Session – Facts Over Fame

Elysia led a powerful HAG session featuring video clips of a highly intelligent young Chinese KOL. The core message struck a chord with everyone:

"Regardless of who they are—if what they say is not based on facts, we should not listen to it."

The session reminded us that as aspiring high achievers, we must think critically, verify information, and never be swayed by status or charisma alone. True excellence is built on truth and evidence, not popularity.

🧠 Special Session: High Achiever Grooming – Club Mentor DTM Elysia Teh returned with a thought-provoking take on Elon Musk's "wishful thinking"—and flipped it into a lens for bold action. Perspective = everything.

😄 Euphoric Toastmaster of the Day – Hsien Yang kept the energy light, the laughter flowing, and the meeting smooth as silk. A true mood-lifter!

🎯 Table Topics Master – Tharmendran struck the perfect balance: topics that stretched us just enough—nerve-wracking but doable. That's where growth lives.
