Charity Jam Session 2026 – Silver Jubilee Bash!

What a day it was on 7 June 2026 at RP Entertainment Centre, The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur! Charity Jam Session turned 25 in style, and the celebration was nothing short of epic.

From 12 noon to 12 midnight, the venue buzzed with energy — live bands rocking the stage, friends dancing along, fabulous lucky draw prizes being grabbed and tables overflowing with big portions of delicious food that kept everyone fueled and smiling. The fellowship was infectious, with Rotarians from far and near, partners, and supporters coming together to laugh, sing, and give generously in support of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (UMMC), Food Aid Foundation, and other charitable causes.

The atmosphere was electric — music, food, and community spirit blending perfectly into one unforgettable day. Every performance brought joy, every bite brought comfort, and every donation brought hope.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this milestone celebration. Together, we proved once again that music, fellowship, and generosity can change lives — and we look forward to many more years of rocking for a cause!

On a sad note: we mourn the passing of Yugan, the beloved lead singer of The Cauliflower Robbery, who delivered one of the night’s standout performances. His energy lit up the stage, and his memory will forever remain part of the Charity Jam Session family. We also remember Hussein Hussein Idris, the legendary drummer of The Strollers, who sunsequently passed away at 77. His remarkable legacy continues to inspire generations of musicians and music lovers alike.

6 June 2026 - District Awards Night at Confetti KL
A Glitzy Night of Fellowship for Rotary Club of Metro Kuala Lumpur!

We came together not just to celebrate recognitions, but to honor the true essence of Rotary — fellowship, service, and unity.

While we were humbled to receive acknowledgments in several areas, the real triumph lies in the friendships we’ve nurtured, the bonds we’ve strengthened, and the collective spirit that continues to drive us forward.

Awards are wonderful, but fellowship is the heartbeat of Rotary. It is through this spirit of Unite for Good togetherness that we serve, grow, and inspire — making a lasting difference in our communities and in each other’s lives.

International Understanding (IU) Day 2026 | Stronger in Unity

Our St John's International School Interact Club had their very first IU Day, held on 23 May 2026, which has successfully concluded, meaningful, vibrant, and inspiring day!

Months of careful planning, meetings, long hours of practice and coordination came together beautifully to create an event that truly reflected this year’s theme: “Stronger in Unity.” Four performances celebrated the diversity and rich culture of Malaysia. Light local food were served during the break.

Special Community Society for Ampang's President, Ms Christine Wong was present to speak on the cause of the special community to the audience.

There was a forum, highlighting unity, compassion, and the importance of bridging differences. Father Gerard, Ms Arunima and Ms Kaye shared their experiences and views on contrasting realities between children in underdeveloped and developed countries — a powerful reminder that while circumstances may differ, hopes and dreams are universal.
What made IU Day especially special was the collaboration — Interactors students, teachers, organisers, performers, and partners all coming together with one purpose: to celebrate diversity while recognising our shared responsibility toward one another.

A huge thank you to everyone involved — from the dedicated organising committee and performers turning the event into an unforgettable experience.

IU Day 2026 reminded us that when we listen, learn, and stand together, we are truly stronger in unity.

Charity Jam Session (CJS) marks 25 years with silver Jubilee fundraising celebration bringing people together through music, food, fellowship and community support for charitable causes.

Taking place on 7 June 2026 at RP Entertainment Centre, The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur, CJS 2026 will feature a full-day programme of live music performance, food and beverage offerings and fundraising activities in support of beneficiaries, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), Food Aid Foundation (FAF) and other charitable organisations.

This year’s initiative is jointly organized with FAF, The Society of Golden Keys Malaysia, Chef Bob Adnan & team and The Saujana Kuala Lumpur as co-organiser and host.

CJS has always been about bringing people together through music, food and community spirit to support those in need. While we celebrate how far the initiative has come, the need for support remains ongoing, and we hope more friends and Rotarians will continue supporting the cause by attending the event and purchasing tickets.

For 25 years, the Charity Jam Session (CJS) has been more than just a day or night out.

What started as a gathering of music lovers has grown into the longest-running charity event in the country — recognised by the hospitality industry, supported by the Malaysian Association of Hotels, and ourselves as co-organiser for the last10 years.

This Silver Anniversary, hosted by The Saujana Kuala Lumpur, we come together once again — not just to enjoy great food and live music, but to make a real difference for those who need it most.

Because that’s what the Charity Jam has always been about. Bringing people together. Building community. And reminding us that when we show up for each other, nobody gets left behind.

Looking forward to your support! See you on the 7th of June 2026. Let’s make this one count. 🎶❤️

2 May 2026. Making Waves of Joy: A Day at Port Dickson!

What a beautiful day it was! For our much-anticipated annual trip to Port Dickson, we had the absolute privilege of hosting two busloads of incredible guests: the Orang Asli children from Labu, Negeri Sembilan, and children with Autism and Down Syndrome from KL, accompanied by their devoted parents and caretakers.

Our itinerary was packed with smiles and sunshine; we kicked things off at the Port Dickson Ornamental Fish Centre at Jalan Kemang after a Malaysian breakfast of nasi lemak and Milo. The kids were mesmerized by the vibrant underwater world.

We then headed to the Yacht Club for a delicious lunch arranged by RCPort Dickson. After refueling, it was time to make a splash! The children had a "whale of a time" playing games and enjoying a dip in the sea, all kept safe and sound under the watchful eyes of Rotarians and Buaya Puchong 4x4 volunteers.

After working up an appetite in the surf, everyone enjoyed a sumptuous afternoon tea before heading home with full hearts and heavy goody bags!

A huge thank you to everyone who made this day possible for their time, sponsorship, etc. Seeing the laughter and pure joy on these children's faces is what this annual tradition is all about. Community, inclusion, and a bit of Vitamin Sea!

27 April 2026

At our 20th regular Meeting, PAG Jennifer shared her inspiring experience from Surabaya, where she attended the closing ceremony of the Global Grant Basic Education & Literacy project with RC Surabaya Persada.

The event was a true milestone, marked by the signing of the Sister Club Agreement between RC Metro Kuala Lumpur and RC Surabaya Persada—strengthening our partnership and commitment to education across borders.

The ceremony was graced by the media, education officers, representatives from participating schools, Past District Governors (PDGs), many Rotarians, and even the former Mayor of Surabaya—showcasing the impact and importance of this initiative.

Jennifer also brought back books, media coverage clippings, and ole-ole (souvenirs) from Surabaya, giving us a tangible reminder of the strong bonds formed and the meaningful work accomplished.

Together, we continue to build bridges, empower communities, and create lasting change.

17 - 20 April 2026

We are incredibly proud to announce the successful completion of our GG Basic Education and Literacy Global Grant project in Surabaya with RC Surabaya Persada! While 18 April 2026 marked the official close, last Saturday’s grand closing ceremony was both a celebration of achievement and the beginning of a powerful partnership for the future.

One of the highlights was the signing of the Sister Club Agreement between the Rotary Club of Metro Kuala Lumpur and the Rotary Club of Surabaya Persada. This formal bond cements our commitment to working together across borders to serve our communities and ensure the long-term success of our joint initiatives.

Impact Across 9 Schools - The ceremony was graced by presence of the former Mayor of Surabaya, Education Officer, some Past District Governors (PDGs) and many Rotarians showcased the transformation of upgrading teaching skills across nine schools in Surabaya.

By focusing on critical thinking, we have empowered educators to move beyond rote learning. Students are now being taught to analyze, evaluate, and innovate—skills essential for tomorrow’s leaders.

A heartfelt thank you to our new Sister Club, RC Surabaya Persada, and to everyone who contributed to this Global Grant. Together, we are not just changing classrooms—we are changing lives.
