The Asia Middle East Center for Research and Dialogue (AMEC) is delighted to highlight the participation of our fellow, Mr. Jismi Johari, at the Global Town Hall 2026. Organized by the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI) on Saturday, September 19, 2026, this annual virtual marathon brings together global decision-makers, thinkers, and civil society leaders to address major international issues.
During the event, Mr. Jismi contributed as a Civil Society Discussant, drawing on his extensive experience as the President of Malaysian Humanitarian Aid and Relief (MAHAR) and Chairman of Ops Ihsan. His session aligned directly with this year’s urgent theme: “Calling for a Global U-Turn: Recentering Development, Reclaiming Humanity, Restoring Justice in a Crazi(er) World.”
In his remarks, he emphasized the critical and growing role that civil society must play in countering the erosion of the rules-based international order, advocating for a renewed focus on justice, development, and humanity in international affairs.
