We had a wonderful harvest at the kebun yesterday! It is incredibly rewarding to see the garden thriving and yielding such a generous bounty. A big thank you to everyone who has helped tend to the garden and joined in to gather these healthy vegetables. 🌿🌶️

If you'd like to join us, volunteers are warmly welcome to help around the Kebun from Tuesday and Saturday, between 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM.

Our Kebun just had a major upgrade! 🌿 We’ve been looking to create a safer and more stable walking path for our seniors for a while, and today the amazing UM students and CIMB staff made it happen. Thank you so much for the hard work, the sweat, and for looking out for the elders in our community. We really couldn't have done it without you all! 🚶‍♂️💚

We often overlook the tiniest workers in our gardens, but bees are truly our greatest allies. Without these busy pollinators, the plants we love—from fragrant kitchen herbs to delicate orchids—wouldn't be able to reproduce and thrive. They are the true engine of our local ecosystem! 🐝🌸
Ready to invite more of these amazing helpers into your green space? You can upcycle a cozy DIY Bee House in just three easy steps using everyday household items:
✂️ Step 1: Prep the Shell Measure 20cm from the base of a clean 2L plastic bottle. Cut along the line and keep the bottom half (recycle the top!).
🗞️ Step 2: Pack the Tubes Cut cardboard tubes into neat 15cm lengths. Insert them into the bottle and wedge them in firmly so they are tightly packed.
🌿 Step 3: Mount Securely Find a stable spot that is protected from direct rain and harsh sun. Use zip ties to anchor the bottle tightly to a sturdy fence or structure.
Why take the time to build one? This little project packs a massive punch for the environment:
✨ Upcycling: It transforms common household waste into genuine environmental value.
✨ Sustainability: It creates a beautiful cycle—more nesting spots mean more pollination for local plants.
✨ Bee Power: Giving solitary bees a safe place to rest directly strengthens our local biodiversity, helping nature heal and grow. 🌍💚
Swipe through the guide for the visual breakdown! 👉 Let’s give back to our favorite pollinators.

🐝 Catching the busy bees at work! 🌺 Bees are man’s best friends and one of the greatest pollinators out there! They bring our Kebun to life, turning tiny blossoms into the food we share and keeping our environment perfectly balanced.

Happy weekend, garden buddies! 🌼 Ever look at an empty plastic bottle and think it could be doing more than just sitting in the recycling bin?

We are always looking for fun, zero-cost weekend projects to share with the community.
Whether you're tending a shared neighborhood plot or just a sunny apartment balcony, finding clever ways to reuse daily waste is a huge part of protecting our local environment.

Turning single-use plastic into a vertical garden actively keeps non-biodegradable waste out of landfills and waterways, putting it straight to work for your plants instead! 🌎💚

The absolute best part about this stacked design is how well it manages water. As water trickles down from the top, the enclosed bottles lock in the humidity.
It’s a fantastic little hack for keeping herbs like rosemary happy in our tropical heat, and it's even a great setup for nursing epiphytic orchids before mounting them on a tree. 🌿✨

There are 3 steps to build the Vertical plastic bottle tower.

Step 1: 🛠️ Drill a small hole in the bottle cap and cut a central opening in the middle of the bottle.
Step 2: 🌱 Put the cap back on, hang the bottle upside down, and add your soil.
Step 3:Tie the bottle to a wall, pole, or fence and plant your favorite vegetable or herb!

♻️ Your Impact? You get fresh plants, Provide plastic with new value to nature, and feel good about yourself.

Would you try this project? Leave a comment about your ways in creating a greener and more sustainable future

Let’s keep growing and protecting our green spaces together!

From the land and into your hands! 🌱 Celebrating another bountiful harvest! A huge thank you to everyone who made this harvest a bountiful success! It is always wonderful to see our community come together to nurture nature and grow sustainably. 🌍🌿

When the veggies are this fresh, keep the cooking simple:

🍆 Eggplant: Steam, stir-fry, grill, or drop into curry—it is one of the greatest sources of fiber for easy digestion.

🌶️ Green Chili: Dip it, pound it into sambal, or pickle it. This is a nourishing spice that actively fights inflammation.

🥒 Okra: Quick boil-blanch into cold water and dip into garlic and soy sauce, roast, or add into a rich curry. It is our go-to superfood for improving gut health!

Looking to grow your own food, join a friendly neighborhood team or simply contribute? Drop your enquiries in the chat on how you can contribute! If you want to volunteer or simply visit while the team is here, we are around on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM. Looking forward to meeting you here!

Hello world. While we love accepting your kitchen waste and reducing landfill and helping to make your kitchens smell wonderful… we would respectfully ask you to empty the waste INTO the bin. And not leave it next to the bin…. please do take your plastic trash home with you too. Thanks in advance!
