Are you a musician, music teacher or student, a lecturer, researcher, special education educator, or someone who's passionate about music or special education? Come explore a different way of experiencing and learning music through MAB's Joyful Braille Music Notation Experimental Workshop!

Recognised by the Asia Book of Records and the Malaysia Book of Records as the First Pedagogical Braille Music Notation System, Joyful Braille Music Notation (JBMN) introduces an innovative approach to inclusive music education.

Through hands-on activities, discover how Braille music notation works, from notes and rhythm to time signatures, key signatures, and treble and bass clefs. No matter your background, and regardless of whether you are sighted or visually impaired, this is an opportunity to explore accessible music learning and gain a better understanding of how visually impaired individuals experience music.

Time: 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Venue: Lecture Hall, 2nd Floor, Kompleks MAB, Kuala Lumpur

Still smiling thinking about our day at Roar Beyond Sight with Malayan Banking Berhad!

Last Saturday, MAB's Gurney Training Centre (GTC) went to Maybank Academy for a special family day event with the Maybank Global Banking team, organised under the Maybank Cahaya Kasih initiative.

Our GTC instructors and trainees had such a lovely time, from singing their hearts out on stage to joining in the fun with everyone. We had a Zumba session to get everyone moving, and then had a crab race that brought out some friendly competition. Before the closing and prize-giving ceremony, there was also a blind art auction featuring artwork created by our visually impaired trainees, and all art pieces were sold out in minutes!

It was really heartwarming seeing everyone come together, cheering each other on and enjoying the day. A big thank you to Maybank Global Banking for having MAB and our GTC family be part of this event. We’re so glad we got to share these moments with you!

Here’s to more days like this, more laughter and more memories together as partners working towards inclusion.

We’re thrilled to be teaming up with Maybank Global Banking for "Roar Beyond Sight", a CSR initiative under Maybank's Cahaya Kasih programme!

Held this Saturday, 10 October at Maybank Learning Centre, involving Maybank staff and fellow GTC members, this is going to be a fun-filled day of bringing families together, trying out exciting activities and making memories along the way. From the fun run and Soopa Doopa games to the petting zoo, bubble show and face painting, there’ll be plenty to look forward to!

A big thank you to Maybank for having MAB and our GTC community be part of this special day. We’re looking forward to sharing lots of smiles, laughter and meaningful moments together!

A little peek into the life of MAB's very own Mr Hafiyyan Lali!

Our Head of ICT, Hafiyyan, and his wife, Farah Nur Ab Aziz, recently sat down with Buletin TV9 to share a little about their life together, from the everyday stuff to how they support and look out for each other.

As a visually impaired husband and sighted wife, they’ve found their own way of doing things, navigating life together and making each day work. At the end of the day, it’s the little things, mutual understanding and having someone by your side that make a home feel like home.
