A Leader’s Retreat 2026: Three Days of Memories, Friendship and Growth
The Leader’s Retreat 2026 was a meaningful three-day, two-night experience filled with laughter, reflection, friendship, and opportunities to grow together as leaders.
The retreat began with a meeting where we reflected on everything we had accomplished throughout the year. We discussed the activities and events we had organised, the experiences we had gone through, and what we hope to achieve in the coming year. We also had a farewell dinner with SSgt Jia Xin, we wished her well for her further studies!
On the second day, we began with church service before departing for Semenyih. After approximately an hour of travelling, we arrived and started the day with a refreshing coconut shake. We then had a bonding session filled with physical activities, challenges, teamwork and plenty of laughter. It was a great opportunity to spend time together outside our usual BB environment.
Later in the day, we went shopping together to prepare our meals before heading to our homestay. The night became one of the most memorable parts of the retreat as we played games until late, had random conversations, laughed together, and simply enjoyed each other’s company. These simple moments gave us the opportunity to build stronger friendships and get to know one another beyond our roles as NCOs and leaders.
On the final day, we woke up and worked together to prepare breakfast and lunch before cleaning up. We then continued our journey to a river near Semenyih, where we had lunch together and enjoyed some time in nature.
One of the most meaningful activities of the day was the character test. Through it, we were able to understand each other’s personalities on a deeper level and learn more about how each of us communicates, thinks and works. Understanding these differences can help us communicate better, work more effectively as a team, and support one another as leaders.
Looking back, this retreat was more than just three days of activities and fun. It was about the people we shared those moments with. The conversations, laughter, challenges and friendships made the retreat truly memorable.
This was also my last Leader’s Retreat as an NCO. I’m grateful for the experiences, lessons and friendships I’ve gained throughout my time serving as an NCO. While this chapter is coming to an end, I look forward to the possibility of returning in the future as an Officer, continuing to serve, lead and create more memories with everyone.
Three days. Two nights. Countless memories. One unforgettable retreat. ❤️🫡
